  • Congratulations on taking this step to make time and space for your creative work and your writing self. We are so excited to welcome you and your writing into the Wild Ground Writing family!

  • The door into the B&B is accessible via a ramp or five stairs.

    Six bedrooms are on the second story, reachable via a switchback staircase, with shared bathrooms at either end of the hall (one with a shower and one with a tub and shower). To view rooms and layouts, visit www.bellaura.ca  

    The dining area and living room are on the main floor, along with a shower room and two washrooms. Workshops will take place either on the main floor or in the basement (reachable via a staircase), depending on participant needs. All meals and evening events will happen on the main floor.

    One accessible room with an attached bath is available on the main floor. Please email lauren@laurencarter.ca to book. This will be charged either as a single (one person) or double (two people sharing a king-sized bed), dependent on your situation. SOLD OUT

    We also offer a commuter rate for those traveling in or who desire different accommodations (FYI: the new Blue Crescent Hotel is within a short walk/drive of the B&B).

  • NOTE: if you have selected double or triple occupancy but don't have a roommate, we will assign you to a shared room. If you have any concerns about this, please email Lauren at lauren@laurencarter.ca

  • Workshops

  • The writing workshops will take place Saturday morning and afternoon and Sunday morning. They will each be capped at maximum 10 participants on a first-come-first-served basis. For workshop descriptions, please visit this page. You can also choose to write on your own. 

  • Meals and Dietary Requirements: 

     

    Retreat registration includes supper on Friday evening, Saturday breakfast, a mid-afternoon snack and supper, and, on Sunday, a light breakfast and lunch. Bell Aura has excellent reviews for its food and will gladly accommodate dietary requirements if informed in advance.

  • Registration Terms and Conditions: 

    Registration is essential due to space limitations. We register on a first-come, first-served basis. You are considered registered when we have a completed form and the deposit (or full amount) is paid.

    Registrations within two weeks of the retreat start date require full payment. 

    The full payment of the reservation’s balance is due 21 days before the retreat start date (October 13). We will email your final invoice.  

    Cancellation Policies: 

    Because our retreats have limited space, the deposit amount of $150 is non-refundable should you cancel within three weeks of the start date (after October 13). 

    Prior to this date, a full refund of the deposit will be given. Please email lauren@laurencarter.ca should you need to cancel. Your booking is transferable, if someone wants to take your place. 

    If you depart early during a program, full tuition and room charges still apply.

    Should we have to cancel the retreat for any reason, including low registration, you’ll receive a minimum of two weeks’ notice and receive a 100% refund.
