Hope Gardens Essay Competition Application Form

Submission deadline: Friday, July 21, 2023 at 11:59 p.m.
Topic: Urbanization and nature: Examine the impact of urbanization on natural environments, wildlife, and the well-being of people, and propose ways to create sustainable urban spaces that prioritize both humans and nature.
Word Limit: 500
Rules
1. Essays are to be typed in size 12 font, double-spaced and submitted in word doc format. Essays should not exceed 500 words. 2. Essays MUST be original and have a reference page. Essays with evidence of plagiarism will be disqualified. 3. Essays over the word limit will be disqualified. 4. The winning essay in each category will be published on the Hope Royal Botanic Gardens website. 5. All essays submitted will become the property of the Nature Preservation Foundation, Hope Royal Botanic Gardens. 6. Prizes will be awarded to the first (1st), second (2nd) and third (3rd) place winners in each county (Cornwall, Middlesex and Surrey). The highest scored county winner will be awarded the overall national prize.

First place $25,000 Second place $20,000 Third place $15,000 National winner $35,000 -Join us on International Youth Day on Saturday, August 12th at 10 a.m. at the Hope Royal Botanic Gardens where we will announce the winners.
