Pani Puri Eating Contest Waiver

• I, the undersigned participant in this eating contest (“Contest”), hereby stipulate that I am 18 years of age or older and I have valid photo identification to prove my age which I will furnish to the Contest organizers upon demand. I agree to abide by all Contest rules, to compete in a safe and reasonable manner, and to accept all judges’ rulings.

 

• I understand the health and associated risks inherent in eating contests and in the consumption of large quantities of food and calories over both short and extended periods of time.

 

• I certify that I am in good health and agree to cooperate and speak with media and interviewers authorized by the Contest organizers regarding the Contest and I agree to grant and release all rights on my name, likeness, image, performance and interviews before, during or after the Contest for use by the Contest organizers, their sponsors and licensees, in any and all media in perpetuity and for any and all purposes whatsoever. I also hereby waive, on behalf of myself, successors, heirs and assigns and anyone else claiming under me or on my behalf, all ownership or other property rights to my performance in the Contest and all related activities in perpetuity in all media whatsoever.

 

• I expressly understand that entry and participation in the Contest and all related events and activities, including, without limitation, travel to the Contest and time spent in and around the area of the Contest, interviews with and possibly negative portrayals by the media, and my performance in the Contest, shall be at my own risk and I assume sole and complete responsibility and liability for all such risks.

 

• I, on behalf of myself, my successors, heirs and assigns and anyone else claiming under me, hereby completely, irrevocably and unconditionally release and discharge all sponsors and IACAW from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, expenses, suits, discrimination or other charges, demands, debts, liens, damages, costs, attorneys’ fees, prejudgment or other interest, grievances, injuries, actions or rights of action of any nature whatsoever now or in the future arising in any way out of or in connection with the Contest.

 

• I fully acknowledge and understand that I do not have any right to participate in this Contest and related activities and I am being permitted to participate in consideration of my execution of this document. If it were not for my agreement to execute this document, I acknowledge that I would not be permitted to participate. I further acknowledge and agree that I understand all of the terms and conditions of this document. I also understand that I will be given a signed copy of this document if I so request.

 

Pani Puri Eating Contest Rules

1. Contestant must be 18 years of age to participate. Must bring and provide a valid photo identification for verification at the time of contest.
2. Must be registered and have signed the waiver form.
3. Registration fee of $20 in cash will be collected at the beginning of the contest if it is not prepaid.
4. Contestants should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to 4PM on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Kensico Dam Plaza, Valhalla, NY, report to the Cultural Registration Tent and wait for further instructions.
5. Contestants may not touch any item until the starter whistle blows.
6. Only entire pani puri eaten will be counted (an entire pani-puri is the puri, the pani, and the potato masala filling).
7. Contestants will have 5 minutes to eat all the pani-puri they can.
8. Contestants may drink water while eating the Pani-Puris. Water will be provided.
9. When the 5-minute time limit is up contestants may not put any additional Pani Puris in their mouths. They will have 30 seconds to swallow what is in their mouths. Any contents remaining in the contestant's mouths at the end of 30 seconds will not be counted. Partially eaten pani-puris will not be counted.
10. Visible signs of sickness will result in disqualification and immediate stopping from eating further.
11. Ties will be decided by an “eat off” round/s.
12. Additional instructions may be announced before the start of the contest.
13. 13. Maximum number of contestants will be 25. Additional pre-registrants after first 25 will be added to the waiting list in order of the time of registration. If any of the first 25 registrants isnot present at the time of contest in a timely manner the vacancy will be replaced from the waiting list based on registration time, presence at the event and ability to participate at last minute call. If no one is available to fill a vacancy from the waiting list the additional contestant/s will be invited and randomly selected from the public.
14. 14. We reserve the right to make changes to these rules at any time to accommodate situations not addressed currently to make the contest a successful event. No indemnification will be tendered in any form for such action, nor will any appeals be entertained.
15. The "Pani-Puri Eating Contest Committee's decision will be final and binding.

By participating in this contest and signing the waiver, contestant agrees to the following statement:“I have read waiver form and Pani-Puri Eating Contest Rules and agree to it.”
