Hosted by American Cancer Society volunteer leaders, this free networking happy hour is not a fundraiser but instead an opportunity to come together with like-minded female leaders to learn more about the American Cancer Society’s local work and ways to get involved.
In 1936, Marjorie G. Illig, an ACS volunteer, created the Women’s Field Army, a legion of women who worked together to raise funds and educate the public about cancer. Only 3 years later, this remarkable group of women had increased the number of people actively involved in cancer control efforts from 15,000 to 150,000. This incredible legacy of activism and empowerment continues to drive our organization today, and just as then, we cannot fight alone.
Come enjoy refreshments, good company, and meaningful conversations as we unite in our shared commitment to end cancer as we know it, for everyone. Attendees will hear inspiring stories and discover various ways to make a difference in the fight against cancer. Whether you're interested in volunteering, advocacy, or simply learning more about our initiatives, this event is for you!
