Riders will compete in the WIHS Equitation Classic based on their address submitted to the WIHS Membership Office unless, at the time of application for membership, they elect in writing to compete in the other League. Riders are only permitted to show in one WIHS Equitation per show. No cross-entry between WIHS Equitation is permitted.

The THIS National Children’s Medal and Ariat National Adult Medal do not require any additional memberships to earn points. Riders only need to be current with USEF & USHJA.

The grace period ends on November 30, 2024, for the 2025 qualifying year.

Here's how it works:
- Join by November 30th: All points you earn during the entire qualifying year (09/01/24 - 08/31/25) will count.
- Join after November 30th: Only points earned within the 10 days before your membership starts will count.

For WIHS Equitation, league points are determined by the show's location, NOT the rider's home base.
- Points earned at shows in Zones 1-5 count as EAST points.
- Points earned at shows in Zones 6-12 count as WEST points.
Riders will earn points from shows in ONLY the League Region they select below and may add points from up to four competitions based in the other League to their total.

Riders have until June 15th of the qualifying year to change their leagues provided they submit their request in writing to the WIHS Membership Office by that date or email their request to results@ryegate.com.

Remember, riders will earn points from shows in the League Region they select and may add points from up to four competitions based in the other League to their total.

Imagine a rider named Sarah chooses East as her league region. Throughout the season, she competes in:
- 10 East League Region Competitions: She earns a total of 500 points from these events.
- 5 West League Region Competitions: She earns 100, 150, 200, 250, and 300 points respectively in these events.
How her points are calculated:
- All 500 points from her East League Region competitions count.
- Only her top 4 West League Region scores count: 300, 250, 200, and 150. This totals 900 points.
IF SHE SELECTED EAST, Sarah's total score for the season would be 1400 (500 + 900).

Using the same example but Sarah chooses West as her league region.
- 10 East League Region Competitions: She earns a total of 500 points from these events (let's say the individual scores are 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, and 85).
- 5 West League Region Competitions: She earns 100, 150, 200, 250, and 300 points respectively in these events.
Here's how her points are calculated:
- All 5 West League Region scores count, totaling 1000 points.
- Only her top 4 East League Region scores count: 85, 80, 75, and 70. This totals 310 points.
IF SHE SELECTED WEST, Sarah's total score for the season would be 1310 (1000 + 310).
