Responsibilities and Activities:
- Participate in required paid training (up to 10 hours) & professional development
- Provide information to youth, young adults, family members, and professionals that work in the disability field
- Participate in meetings to provide the youth/young adult perspective and personal experience
- Create and deliver content and presentations on topics related to the needs of youth/young adults
- Review websites, training materials, and other products and provide the Youth/Young Adult perspective
- Promote and recruit for the Youth Advisory Community by sharing your story with organizations from Western States (California, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Idaho)
Skills and Commitments:
- Knowledge and ability to use the following technology: email, Microsoft products (Word and PowerPoint), Zoom and other virtual meeting platforms, phone and video calling
- After completion of paid training, estimated 5 hours per month of contracted service
- Attend and participate in occasional webinars with Region D2 Parent Centers
Flexible Schedules and Accommodations:
- Peak understands scheduling conflicts and will work with members to schedule Youth Advisory Community activities, training, meetings and projects at convenient times of the day, afternoon or evening
- Upon request, Youth Advisory Community Members will be provided with accommodations to ensure their successful participation
Compensation
- Youth Advisory Community Members are compensated for their time at $20.00 per hour
- Paid travel and per diem expenses, if possible and when necessary
