TEAMS & MOOTS:
Information about your debate team can be added one month before the competition begins. Junior, Youth and Tertiary teams must include four debaters (one debater is to serve as a researcher and reserve speaker) and a team coach/ manager assigned by the school. Celebrity and Special teams must include two debaters and a team coach/ manager.
Debate subjects will be set by Parents Alliance Jamaica and/ or a Council of Principals from all participating schools, based on school curricula, current affairs and relevant National and Parents' Alliance themes. The competition's first moots are in the text "A Critical Thinking Mindset for Pre-Teens".
Debaters must present solutions to presented problems in the style of a parliamentary debate, advancing a bill. Each team should prepare to discuss/ argue at least 4 moots (Round 1), however the first is a 'Mock Debate' during the team's orientation. Specific rules for the debate are provided in the leaflet "Information for Judges", and successful teams will progress to subsequent rounds.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Cover Registration Fees totalling:
Junior - $20,000.00 per school is required and should ideally be paid by a business or community sponsor of the team. It may also be deducted from your school's C-Think token earnings.
Youth - $25,000.00 per school (s/a)
Tertiary - $30,000.00 per team (s/a)
Your school will receive a marketing kit and live radio interview to help you attract elector fans and highlight your team. The interview will be podcasted and pushed online. It will also be added to your team's C-Think Promotional material, which includes your school's C-Think profile/ web page, and media assets that will be constructed for you.
Fees and the organizaer's share of token revenue are to be paid to:

2. Information and Media
Tell us about your school, team and manager, and provide media like videos and photopraphs when required for marketing.
3. Sell Elector Tokens
Electors have 50% of the say in how matches are scored using an elector token throughout the competition (even if their team dropped out). Schools in the C-Think Junior League must sell at least 200 tokens, or finish among the top 10 schools on the League in order to secure their spot on the League for subsequent seasons. Teams will receive 50% of all token sales, even for tokens purchased directly from participating websites and book stores.
4. Prepare, Turn Up and Win
Make your electors, other fans, wider school family and community proud by: attending our virtual workshops, reasearching well, and critically thinking over and deleberating on the moots to the best of your ability. Information about matches and awards is available on our website.
OPTIONAL BASIC INTERNET MARKETING AGREEMENT (BIMA)
CAP Media already slashes costs for school clients, but schools on the C-Think can access BIMA-Build for only $7,500.00 and BIMA-Post for only $15,000.00 per term if they wish.
With BIMA-Build CAP Media will construct or upgrade:
- your school website with up to 50 email addresses and pages for clubs, societies and departments;
- your schools' social media spaces,
- an online magazine for your school with instant notification to subscribers like parents and your school family (you can even advertise and sell prodcuts through your magazine)
- a Donate and/ Shop page linked to your website, social spaces and magazine.
With BIMA-Post CAP Media will:
- help ensure that your pages have daily posts, and magazine has weekly posts
- support your email users and magazine subscribers
- update your website monthly
- cover hosting costs for cloud storage of your sites and pages.
