Covid Precautions
All volunteers will be required to test negative via an at-home test within 48 hours before their first shift. Because rates of infection have been elevated and many of our youth and volunteers are at increased risk, we are requiring masks indoors and in crowded spaces. We will provide KN95 or KF94 masks each day. We will have enough at-home test kits for volunteers at camp, but you are welcome to use your own test prior to camp if you prefer.
Do you have an at home test you can use prior to your first shift at camp?
Yes, I have a test and will submit proof of my negative test within 48 hours of my first shift
No, I will arrive 30 minutes early to camp and test on site
Girls Rock Columbia conducts background checks on all volunteers that work directly with campers. Background checks are conducted by an independent agency and include a Social Security trace, U.S. criminal search, and national sex offender registry search. All background check-related personal information is kept confidential by the agency. We recognize that background checks are a part of a larger system that surveils, criminalizes, and oppresses people, especially people of color, queer people, and people who are undocumented. Not having a social security number or having a criminal history will not automatically impact your ability to volunteer. In that case, we will contact you for further discussion.
I authorize Girls Rock Columbia and its parent organization to perform criminal background checks on me.
