Themes: Folklore & Mythology
Folklore: stories of a community, passed through the generations by word of mouth.
Mythology: a popular belief that is probably not true.
Folklore and mythology are pervasive in our world. We use folklore to pass down stories within our families and communities. Mythology are stories created to illustrate cultural traditions through dreams, histories and beliefs. Artists in this exhibit can use these themes to create work from the stories passed down from their own families and/or communities or they can create a story from their own imagination. Age groups will be juried separately by artist members of Kindling Studios. The age groupings: 5-10, 11-14, 15-18 and All Adults 18 and over.
