Information about Applications:
1. An application must contain payment of $500 plus GST (the Application Fee) made payable to Buyers Independent Group Australia Limited (the Company). The Application Fee, minus the Company's administration costs of $250 is refundable if the application is not accepted.
2. BIGA Members must pay an annual fee commencing at $3,000 plus GST (Membership Fee). The Membership Fee is due on 1 July every year. For Probationary Members the Membership Fee will be apportioned on a pro rata basis and is payable on acceptance of their application.
3. Applicants must not carry on business where conflict in competition to existing members exists.
4. Acceptance of applications will be by majority vote of the Directors of the Company.
Information about Membership:
1. Members must place their own orders with suppliers and be responsible for payment. Collated buys will be coordinated through the group coordinator of the Company.
2. Members must support the Company's agreement supplier category contributing at least 80% of their purchases if trading agreements are in place, with the nominated suppliers retaining remaining percentage of purchases. Members whose businesses are involved in plumbing goods and services and have a showroom must display the Company's exclusive products.
3. The Company will establish and maintain an agency account and trust fund into which it will deposit all Members rebates and other monies received by the Company on behalf of the members in accordance with the Members Rules. Those monies, less costs, will be distributed to members in accordance with the Members Rules.
4. Memberships are not transferable. If a member sells their business the new owner must apply for membership with the Company.
5. Members must attend the Annual Trade Expo. Penalties may apply if not in attendance.
6. Membership Fees and Application Fees will not be refunded in the event that a member is requested to resign or has their membership terminated.
Confidential Information:
1. All information about the Company. its operations and its finances are confidential.
2. Where a member misuses information from any meeting of the Company, the Directors or the members may request that member resigns from the Company and the member must agree to such a request. If the member does not agree to the request for resignation, the Company may terminate the member's membership.
