2023 Student Scholarship PROGRAM

Dear Applicant,

The Wisconsin Club Managers Foundation (WCMF) is pleased to announce the opening of our 2023 Student Scholarship Program. As the educational and philanthropic arm of the Wisconsin Badger Chapter of the Club Management Association of America (CMAA), our mission is to foster the study of the private club industry ins schools and universities and to promote a closer affiliation between students and professionals working in the field.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

The WCMF will award up to $2,000 ranging from $500-$2,000. Scholarship winner/s are selected by the Student Scholarship Committee. The scholarship award is made directly to the registrar at the college or university the recipient attends.

WHO SHOULD APPLY

Any individual who is actively seeking a managerial career in the private club industry and is currently enrolled in an accredited, two or four-year college or university undergraduate hospitality program, may apply for the scholarship. Full-time Freshmen that are members of the CMAA & UW-Stout CMAA may apply.

CRITERIA

Candidates must:
- provide strong evidence they are pursuing a managerial career in the private club industry
- must be enrolled in an accredited two-year or four-year program in line with this vision who are dedicated to pursuing managerial careers within the private club industry.
INSTRUCTIONS:

Please read and carefully adhere to the following application requirements:
- Complete and submit an official application by September 25, 2023
- Provide a letter of recommendation from either a faculty advisor/professor, a private club industry professional, or a hospitality industry professional
- Provide a copy of your current resume
- Write an essay (between 500-1,000 words) addressing the following components;
  - What drew you to the private club industry?
  - What do you see as a challenge to the private club industry and how would you address it?
  - Describe your perfect job.
  - Tell us about a difficult situation you experienced and how you resolved it.
  - Why do you feel that you should be a WCMF Student Scholarship recipient
October 11: Deadline for application submission and recommendation forms, no exceptions

October 23: Scholarship Winners are publicly announced at the Annual Meeting
