Thank you for your interest in learning more about becoming Board Certified in Hearing Instrument Sciences (BC-HIS) by the National Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences (NBC-HIS), which is nationally accredited by the Institute for Credentialing Excellence.
Holding board certification from NBC-HIS, which provides certificants the ability to designate themselves as BC-HIS, displays to current and prospective clients their provider's dedication to excellence and enables hearing healthcare professionals to stand out among the rest.
To become board certified, you'll need to complete our application, have at least 2 years recent experience in hearing aid dispensing*, hold an active and clean dispensing license, and agree to abide by the NBC-HIS Code of Ethics. Once approved, you'll need to pass the National Competency Examination to achieve board certification. (*Alternatively, graduates of certain hearing instrument programs may also qualify.)
Complete the following form, and we'll email you our free Candidate Handbook and Self-Study Guide, which contain more information about the examination and how to apply. You can also learn more about becoming Board Certified through our website: www.nbc-his.com.
