    Group Event Inquiry
  • The Portland Lawn Bowling Club (PLBC) is a great place to host your corporate event, family party, or class reunion.  PLBC accepts requests from groups for private, two-hour lawn bowls sessions.

     

    Group sessions include exclusive use of an exquisitely maintained bowls green, basic lawn bowling instruction, use of club-owned equipment and on-site assistance. Groups of up to 30 bowlers can be accommodated and are scheduled based on the availability of the green and PLBC member coordinators.

     

    Group Reservation Process

    • Review the Rental Fees, Rules, and Cancellation Policy 
    • Use the PLBC online calendar to guide your planning
    • Complete and submit this Group Event Inquiry Form
    • Wait for email notification from PLBC about your reservation being accepted or declined
    • If accepted, pay the deposit.  Receipt of the deposit secures your reservation
    • Enjoy your reservation at the green
    • Pay the balance of the reservation cost

    Rental Fees

    Upon notification of acceptance of the event, the group agrees to make a non-refundable deposit of $250 for basic instruction and use of club owned equipment for up to 10 bowling participants. The group agrees to pay an additional $25 per bowling participant over 10. Fees may be paid by check, credit card, Paypal or Venmo.

     

    Cancelation Policy

    • If the event is canceled by PLBC for any unforeseeable condition such as bad weather, illness, park closure, or safety concerns, the deposit shall be refunded in total. 
      • If desired, the Group may reschedule the event for a future date.
    • If the event is canceled by the Group within eight (8) to thirty (30) days prior to the event date, 50% of their deposit will be refunded.
    • If the event is canceled by the Group within seven (7) days prior to the event, the deposit is forfeited in total

     

    Group Session Policies

    • This is an outdoor activity; guests are encouraged to dress for the weather.
    • Guest use of the clubhouse is limited to the restrooms.
    • Groups may bring food, beverages, coolers, and lawn chairs for their enjoyment and comfort.
    • Non-bowling guests and supervised children are welcome to watch from the sidelines but are not allowed on the green. 
    • All participants must wear flat-soled shoes (no heels) or may bowl barefoot.
    • A 10 X 10 pop up canopy, two tables, and 6-10 lawn chairs are available upon request. 
    • The Group is responsible to leave the facility in the same condition as when they arrived, removing all personal items and trash.
    • The Group is responsible for any damages sustained to the green, clubhouse, or equipment.
    • Smoking is not allowed on the premises.
    • Dogs are not allowed on the premises.
    • Guests are responsible for their own safety and personal belongings
