  • UNIT MISSION STATEMENT

    An elite team of highly trained and motivated men and women able to deploy to Armenia to assist civilian authorities in providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Armenia during times of man-made calamity (response to renewed armed aggression by Azerbaijan and its allies) or in response to natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, pandemics). Such assistance includes rendering first aid, casualty care, recovery assistance, rebuilding of infrastructure and communications networks, and delivery of food and medical supplies.
  • ENLISTMENT REQUIREMENTS

    Each candidate for enlistment into the HUMANITARIAN SUPPORT BRIGADE must possess the intellectual energy, physical fitness, stamina, courage, and moral commitment to help Armenia during times of need. If accepted, each team member will be expected to participate in one week of in-person skill training per year either in the United States or Armenia, maintain his or her assigned equipment and uniform in good condition, and be prepared to deploy to Armenia within approximately nine-six (96) hours of formal notification by email, text, or official phone call. Members will participate, if able, in a one-day yearly briefing and recognition ceremony either in person or virtually. All enlistees must hold and maintain a valid passport allowing for entry to Armenia and return to their country of residence.  
  • STATUS OF ENLISTEE

    Enlistee, upon appointment by the Chairperson of AANSI as a member of the AANSI HUMANITARIAN SUPPORT BRIGADE is an unpaid volunteer. There is no independent contractor or employee/employment relationship between the volunteer and AANSI, except that AANSI will provide all volunteers at its cost with free medical care/insurance, room, board, and required equipment (not including uniforms), and life and casualty insurance during time of deployment. Transportation to and from all training events will be at the cost of the member. Transportation in support of all deployments will be paid by AANSI.  
  • LAWS AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING MEMBERS' SERVICE

    AANSI requires strict compliance by all its team members with international, US and state laws barring sexual harassment, sexual assault, discrimination or any form or type of disparate treatment based upon race, ethnicity, creed, nationality, or sexual orientation.

    I do hereby acknowledge and affirm that I have voluntarily enlisted in the AANSI HUMANITARIAN SUPPORT BRIGADE for an indeterminate period of time, under the conditions prescribed by law, unless sooner discharged by proper authority or by the then President of AANSI , and that I will strive to meritoriously advance the Mission of AANSI to provide humanitarian assistance to the people of Armenia, to the best of my ability, according to applicable international, federal and state law and regulations.
