WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE APPLYING
Event Cinemas is fun place to work but the team take their jobs very seriously!
Their School Based Traineeship Program can really take you places too with many job roles and career pathways available to you.
A School Based Traineeship with Event Cinemas
will provide you the opportunity to gain a BSB30120
Certificate III Business and potentially earn 8 points
towards your School Certificate (discuss with your
School Advisor). You will also receive your RSA
(Responsible Service of Alcohol, Food Safety Supervisor
and First Aid, which are highly regarded certificates
within the qualification.
These traineeships are only available to Year 10 and
Year 11 students and requires a 12 month commitment
from you.
Successful trainees must be available to work 1 day per
week during the school week and be available weekends
and school holidays plus an additional day every 4 - 6
weeks for the theory training day which is held onsite at
the Cinema.
So it’s important that you discuss this with your School
ILO/Careers Advisor to ensure you have the support of
the school before applying as you must nominate the
preferred school release days as part of this application.
What happens after you apply?
• You will be advised by the Event Cinemas team if you
are successful in receiving an interview.
• If you progress to the next stage after the interview,
you will undertake 2 days of work experience. Your
School Careers Advisor will be required to complete
the necessary paperwork in order for this to take
place.
• Yourself and the school will be advised if you
have satisfied the work experience criteria and if
successful, your work release day and training day will
be confirmed.
• Traineeships will commence from November onwards.
You will be required to attend a full day at the Cinemas
when they attend their first shift. The first shift entails
the sign up for their traineeship with MEGT and CTA
Training. Following the sign up is their first training
unit (Responsible Service of Alcohol – RSA) which must
be completed to meet the strict licensing requirement
for the Cinema.
