7. Payment Options
We accept checks (personal or business), wire/ACH transfers, and all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express). All payments are to be paid in U.S. funds. If you choose to use a credit card for payment, a processing fee of 3% will be accessed. A non-sufficient check issued to RSS, LLC and/or your carrier will incur a $150.00 USD non-sufficient check fee. The fee for wire transfers is $35. Final payment in full must be made on the day of the move or upon receipt of our invoice. If remitting your deposit and/or balance over the phone, you are hereby authorizing RSS LLC to electronically debit your account.
Any and all disputes must be handled through the RSS, LLC accounting department. Customer acknowledges that they are waiving their right to dispute charges / payments made on their debit/credit card/bank account. Any and all refunds will be handled through the corporate accounting office. If a refund is warranted, the customer will be mailed a company check once the claim(s) has been investigated. If you wish to contest any fees or file a claim, please e-mail claims to info@rssllc.net.
8. Pricing Adjustments
Pricing adjustments may be made prior to delivery due to fuel surcharge increase, security fee changes and/or currency exchange rate increases. Once your shipment sails, if any information needs to be changed (consignee name/address/phone #/ piece count/ etc.) there may be an administrative amendment charge from the steamship line. If they charge the amendment fee, this will be for your account.
9. Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be submitted in writing at least 2 weeks prior to your move date. Deposits are non-refundable. Deposits do not expire and you can choose to transfer it to the person of your choice.
10. Expiration
The rates and services on an (UNSIGNED) contract are only valid for a period of 5 days. If your contract and reservation payment information are not received within 5 days, your rate and services will be subject to change.
11. Carrier Information
Your carrier will be assigned prior to your pick-up date. RSS, LLC reserves the right to re-assign carriers without notice or cause. This Service Contract is fully assigned to a designated carrier (NVOCC)/Steamship Line. All carriers are licensed and bonded through the FMC.
12. Trucker Detention Time
Unless otherwise specified, we include 3 hours for the trucker’s standby time as the container is being loaded. Actual detention charges, if any, are billed after the loading is completed. This applies to both self-load and if our crew is loading the container. Unfortunately, we cannot estimate loading time in advance, therefore cannot include any detention charges with your original quote.
13. Loading Crew
If you have contracted with us to load your container, most containers can be loaded within the free hours included in the pricing you've received. Certain situations may result in additional time needed for loading. The loading crew has been reserved for up to 3 hours. If additional time is needed to load your goods into the container, additional labor charges will apply and will be billed to the customer as outlined on your proposal/reservation agreement.
14. RSS LLC is not responsible for the shipment of the following items:
Valuable papers, stamp collection, currency, coin collection, valuable jewelry, firearms, and/or any item(s) listed on your customs regulations as a being prohibited. It is your responsibility to ensure nothing prohibited is loaded into the container.
15. Self-packed and/or Self-loaded moves
If your shipment is set up as self-load, please keep in mind that the container sits up on a chassis and is therefore approximately 57 inches off the ground. The container will not be lowered to the ground unless arrangements are made for special equipment ahead of time. The containers do not come with ramps.
16. Inventory List
An inventory list is required for all international shipments. If you have not received our blank inventory sheets, please contact our office. Every box and each loose item loaded inside the container must be listed on our inventory sheets. Your inventory sheets must be faxed, emailed or uploaded to your shipper/consignee profile (SHIPPER / CONSIGNEE PROFILE) immediately following the loading. This information is needed for completion of your sailing documents. If the inventory sheets are not received in time, and we need to amend the sailing documents, the steamship line may charge an administrative amendment fee which will be for your account.
17. Port to Port/Door to Port Moves
The following applies only to port to port & door to port shipments. Please be reminded that all destinations require a shipment to clear customs upon entering the country. It is understood that with the port to port and door to port shipments, it is your responsibility to handle and/or arrange the customs clearance overseas. The service agreement between RSS LLC and the shipper ends upon arrival at the destination port.
**This does not apply to Door to Door moves.
18. LCL (Less than Container Load) Shipments
he price you have been quoted is based on your request. All LCL shipments are measured upon arrival to the consolidated warehouse. If the actual volume if different from your estimated volume, you will be billed/credited for the difference. If you have chosen the terminal-to-terminal shipping option, your goods should be palletized prior to drop off. If you are unable to palletize your boxed cargo, the warehouse may offer this service for an additional fee.
19. Transit Time
The ETD (estimated time of departure) and ETA (estimated time of arrival) are based on the information received directly from the steamship lines and our past experience shipping to your destination. While we do not foresee any changes, the steamship lines do have the right to make schedule changes when necessary. In most cases shipments take about 25 to 55 days to arrive. Your ETA will be provided to you upon request and included in your sailing confirmation sent by our office. RSS LLC cannot be held responsible for any delays in transit including customs holds, port strikes, equipment shortages, port congestion, and any other delays that may occur that are out of our control.
20. Destination Charges (DTHC/PORT FEES)
Customer is responsible to pay for destination charges directly to the overseas agent unless agreed otherwise. Port Fees and DTHC are not included in what you have paid RSS LLC unless otherwise stated on your proposal/reservation
agreement. These fees vary on the shipping line used. Port Fees may include but are not limited to the following items: DECONSOLIDATION FEES, ISPS, LINER FEE/BL FEE/ECS FEE, HARBOR DUES , CSC, NVOCC CHARGES, WAREHOUSE HANDLING, CONTAINER IMBALANCE FEE, DEVANNING, DELIVERY ORDER, LOG FEES, ETC.
IMPORTANT
Upon completion of packing and/or loading, and prior to the container leaving your residence or loading site, the customer agrees to conduct a walkthrough of the premises to ensure that everything that is being shipped has been packed and/or loaded in to the container. We, RSS LLC., cannot be held responsible for items left behind. It is the customers responsibility to notify our crew immediately if an item was missed and this must be done prior to the container leaving your site.
