**Understanding the Responsibility of Fostering and Adopting**
Fostering or adopting an animal, just like volunteering, is a significant commitment that requires knowledge, attention, patience, and, most importantly, a genuine desire to help. We want to remind all potential adopters and fosters that the world of pet rescue is not always sunshine and rainbows.
**Challenges Can Arise**
Just as humans have their problems and quirks, our rescued animals may come with their unique challenges. They may have medical issues, behavioral concerns, or require extra care and attention. These challenges are a part of the journey, and we need all our volunteers, adopters, and fosters to be prepared for them.
if you expect the animal to arrive in a box like a brand new designer bag , in perfect condition without exhibiting any stress, crying, worry, PLEASE DO NOT APPLY, we rescue animals not vintage designer items.
**A Commitment to Help**
If you decide to foster or adopt, we ask that you make a commitment to helping the animal in your care. Saying "yes" during the application process means that you are willing to provide the support and care needed for the animal's well-being when time comes. If you yes everything now, but cause chaos after, it disrupts our volunteer work and no one needs the negativity.
**Consequences of Unpreparedness**
However, if you find yourself feeling unprepared after the dog arrives and demand the animal to be moved, please understand that this has consequences:
1. **Impact on Our Resources**: Finding another volunteer to transport the animal and allocating additional funds can strain our resources, especially in the current economic situation of our country and especially when we rely solely on donors and adoption fees (A single transport across state can cost as much as 1 adoption fee)
2. **Reputation Damage**: In the middle of your stress caused by not being prepared beforehand, while your emotions are high, you might call us rude names and possibly ruin our hard work. Such actions can damage our reputation as a rescue organization. It becomes challenging for us to work effectively with potential adopters and fosters if trust is compromised.
3. **Animal Suffering**: Most importantly, the animal in question suffers due to these changes and uncertainties.
**Our Commitment to You**
We have made every effort to prepare you for the responsibilities that come with fostering or adopting. We are here to support you throughout your journey and provide guidance whenever needed. But please be humane when you reach out, threatening volunteer staff that your new foster dog did "X" and "X" and needs to be moved within 12 hours is unrealistic and destructive.
**Our Volunteers' Dedication**
Our volunteer team strives every day to help animals in need, often taking time away from their personal lives, families, and jobs, without receiving compensation. It is vital that we address our policies for the well-being of both the animals and our dedicated volunteers.
**Zero Tolerance for Misconduct**
We want to emphasize that we will not tolerate any kind of verbal abuse or threats directed at our staff or the animals in our care due to any lack of preparedness. By signing this acknowledgment, you are expressing your commitment to respect and comply with our policies. Our rescue focuses on animals wellbeing, we are not here to be attacked for your stress relief.
**Consequences of Violation**
If you sign this acknowledgment and subsequently violate it, please be aware that we reserve the right to take action. This may include contacting other rescue organizations to inform them of the potential damage caused by your actions.
Thank you for your dedication to Arcadia Animal Rescue, and we look forward to your positive contributions to our mission. Let's make a difference together in the lives of these animals in need while fostering a culture of respect and compassion within our volunteer community.
