  • The 7th annual, Charlotte Black Restaurant Week (CBRW) is Hosted by: Black Business Owners of Charlotte (BBOC).

     is happening Monday, 
    October 16th thru Sunday, October 29th, 2023


    This proposal is between your establishment and Black Business Owners of Charlotte (BBOC):

    HOST HISTORY: Black Business Owners of Charlotte (BBOC) was founded in November 2014 and has built a strong relationship with business owners, partners, sponsors, and the local community in Charlotte, North Carolina. BBOC is comprised of over 3500 official members and facilitate an online Marketplace that has over 15,000 members. Our mission is to provide Business Development and other crucial resources to Black business owners while engaging and inspiring the community to invest in Black-owned establishments.

    CBRW HISTORY: Charlotte Black Restaurant Week™ (CBRW) launched in 2017 and surpassed all expectations! The event showcased 24 Black-owned restaurants, was patronized by over 40,000 people, was featured in over 75 articles both locally and nationwide, reached over 2 million people on Facebook and impacted the economy with $750,000 exchanged during the week-long event.     CBRW SIGNATURE EVENTS:

    -Reveal Party: Oct 16th

    -Black Food Truck Fridays, (7th annual celebration): Oct 20th

    -Taste of Soul-CLT: Oct 28th

    -Finale Party/Gala: TBD

    -2 Fish 5 Loaves Charity event: Oct 29th

    Eligibility for CBRW Participating Establishments: CBRW is open to the following food & beverage establishments; Brick & Mortar; Restaurants, Eateries, & Bars. Also permitted as of 2020; Food Trucks, Ghost Kitchens, Virtual Kitchens, Coffee Shops, Dessert Shops, and Dine-out only.

    Black Business Owners of Charlotte Agrees to:

    -Advertise this event within BBOC's internal network and to the general public. Our internal network consists of 27,500+ Marketplace members, 7,190 official members, and 285,000 email subscribers. Externally we will share the event with major publications & official partners including but not limited to: Yelp, Charlotte's Got A lot, Black Enterprise, CRVA, WCNC. WSOCTV, Queen City News, & more.

    -Submit at least 2 Press Releases: 1 with the participating restaurants who register during Early Bird Registration and 1 final press release that will include all participating establishments.

    -Design and print all CBRW signage that will be displayed at the door of each participating establishment. We will cover all costs of CBRW signage with the assistance of CBRW vendor fees, sponsors and strategic partners. In addition to the required vendor fee, Participating Restaurants are encouraged to become sponsors and/or strategic partners to maximize exposure.

    -Partner with local, regional, & national Newspapers, Television Stations, Magazines, and Radio outlets. We have enlisted a CBRW Steering Committee. The Steering Committee's primary responsibility is to connect BBOC with sponsors, partners & stakeholders, ensuring our marketing goals are exceeded.

    -Build a strong working relationship with participating businesses that extends beyond CBRW.

    -Update participating establishments of any changes in a timely manner, if applicable.

    -Feature your business in our newsletter, that will be FREE to the public. A print-out of th newsletter may be available at all CBRW participating restaurants and at a variety of other locations. We will Include your establishment in our Newsletter.            Please Note: Your vendor fee covers a 1/10 page. If you would like to purchase a larger ad, please see "Additional CBRW Marketing Opportunities" Below.

    -We encourage you to use Open Table or another booking app to prepare for a high customer turnout. We are not liable for any negative publicity that transpires from cleanliness, sanitation score, food allergies, or negative feedback associated with your establishment. The overall purpose of CBRW is to Drive customers to your establishment and increase your visibility in the Charlotte community.

     

     BBOC's Promise To CBRW Participating Establishments: From Now thru the end of CBRW, BBOC's Executive Team, Steering Committee, Partners, & Sponsors will do everything in our power to Drive customers to your restaurant and market your establishment to our extensive network and beyond!

  • As a CBRW 2023 Participant, You Agree To Do the Following:

    -Participate in the 7th Annual, Charlotte Black Restaurant Week (CBRW) and provide (ALL Customers - both current and new customers) CBRW discounts of 25-50% from start of business on Oct 16th to close of business on Oct 29th.

    -Create a CBRW MENU reflecting your overall discount of 25%-50%. Discounted Meals should be structured as follows:

    $10 CBRW Meal, $20 CBRW Meal, and a        2-party $40 CBRW Meal.
    (For establishments with a lower priced regular menu, pricing can be adjusted upon authorization by BBOC) 

    CBRW Menus must also include 5 food Items that will be discounted Individually (al la carte)

    Please Note: CBRW Menus Must reflect 25-50% discount when compared to your regular menus. Providing CBRW discounts ia MANDATORY to participate in the 2-week event. We must maintain consistency across all participating restaurants and other establishments.

    -Submit your regular priced menu and CBRW MENU no later than by Oct 1st ,2023. (We prefer to receive menus asap)

    -To Not inflate prices beyond your regular menu prices, in an attempt to void discount.

    -Maintain a Sanitation score above 92% during CBRW.

    -Schedule adequate staff to handle a spike in business. Restaurants normally experience 100-200% increase in support during CBRW. When customers were surveyed last year, the most common complaints were increased wait times and lack of adequate staff. This year we URGE you to prepare for an influx in business.

    -CBRW Signage: Please display your CBRW menu conspicuously throughout your establishment. Proudly Display on tables, front door, and/or other visibl locations. BBOC will provide you the CBRW logo and menu templates within 48hours of approval of your application.

    -Pay a CBRW Participating Restaurant Vendor Fee*:  

    VENDOR FEES**:

    -Specialty Shops: Coffee, Popcorn, Frozen Desserts, etc: $75 per location

    -Food Trucks, Bakeries, Virtual Kitchens, & DineOut-Only: $100 per location

    -Brick & Mortar Restaurants: $150 per location

     

    **Please Note: BBOC is a federally recognized 501(c)3 organization and the CBRW Vendor Fee is Tax-Deductible. Your financial investment to CBRW gives your restaurant access to all benefits of participating in a 2 week (336+ hour event, with months of advanced marketing, 7 years of customer loyalty, as well as website visibility that will extend beyond CBRW. Based on profit margins from participating restaurants, extensive research of competitors, and BBOC's one & two-day(4 hour) events (where vendors pay $75-250 per event), therefore your investment is very reasonable.

    -We encourage each participating restaurant to select one team-member/employee to serve on our CBRW Steering Committee. This ensures you have a seat at the table during planning and execution of CBRW 2023. Can you encourage at least one owner, employee, or company representative to join the CBRW Steering Committee?

    Please Note: Upon Approval, BBOC may forward a separate proposal & invoice for Additional Marketing Opportunities. In the meantime, to avoid delays, please secure your establishment as a participant of CBRW.

    Disclaimer: No Changes can be made to Agreed Terms, once contract is signed without Authorization from BBOC. Not adhering to agreement could result in removal of your establishment (restaurant, food truck, or specialty shop) from the list.

    CBRW Vendor fees & other Marketing Benefits are non-refundable.

    An invoice will be sent within 1-2 business days. For your convenience, BBOC can arrange to pick up a Cashier's Check or Money Order, please contact us to schedule pick-up.
