Background
This research aims to understand the experience of travelling by air from the perspective of those with postural needs. It is part of a wider research project which is exploring the barriers and examples of good practice this group face when flying. The ultimate aim is to make recommendations on how to improve access to air travel for those with postural needs.
Pre-Screening Questionnaire
This is a quick pre-screening questionnaire for a longer survey which aims to explore the experience of travelling by air from the perspective of those with postural needs. If you are a person with postural needs interested in flying, before we invite you to complete the full survey, we ask you to kindly complete this pre-screening questinonnaire. This will enable us, firstly to ensure that you are eligible for the survey, and secondly to help us recruit as wide ranging and representative group of responders as possible.
This survey is only eligible for people living in the UK
Benefits of Completing the Survey
If you are selected to complete the survey, it should take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. Should you complete the survey to the end, you will be eligible for a £5 voucher.
For personal assistants, partners, parents or guardians
If you are completing this pre-screening questionnaire on behalf of an individual with postural needs, please note that the wording of the survey is in the second person. Where 'you' or 'yours' is used, please accept that this wording refers to the person with postural needs. Please kindly ensure that they are given every opportunity to complete the survey themselves to the best of their ability.

Other Initiatives - Air4All
Please be made aware that this survey concentrates solely on meeting postural needs in a standard airline seat in an aircraft cabin. There are other initiatives that focus on improving accessibility by including powered wheelchairs in the cabin itself. Please be informed of air4all a systems design initiative working towards this goal.
