The Stablehand of the Year Award - sponsored by Entain Australia & New Zealand, is open to all licenced stablehands and strappers living in New Zealand. The Award acknowledges the efforts of people who are up every morning before sunrise, rain hail or shine, to attend to their charges’ every need. We are seeking nominations for people who give our horses the care and attention they deserve.
Sponsor Entain Australia & New Zealand has offered a significant boost to this year’s Stablehand of the Year Award winner. The winning stablehand or strapper will be lucky enough to land a trip for two to The Everest in October, including flights, two nights’ accommodation, plus a full hospitality package, sponsored by Entain and providing an amazing opportunity to cheer on Kiwi star, I Wish I Win.
A licenced trainer living in New Zealand must make the nominations by completing the form below. Both Stablehands and Strappers are eligible to be nominated. As a result of the sponsorship, the prizes for each of the major regions (Northern, Central and Southern) will each receive $2500 in prizemoney, flights, accommodation and tickets to the Awards evening, with the overall prize winner now claiming a remarkable experience at The Everest.
The judging will be undertaken by an NZTR judging panel and the winner will be presented with the Stablehand of the Year Award - sponsored by Entain Australia & New Zealand, at the New Zealand Thoroughbred Horse of the Year Awards on Sunday 10 September. The black-tie dinner will be held at Shed 10, Queens Wharf, Auckland CBD.
