Training procedure:
A. If you have a valid foreign or US driver’s license: Step 1. On-the-road training can begin; Step 2. A written test (permit test questions) at the state Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) must be taken. Step 3. Take road test at a DMV if you are ready. If you are 18-20 years old, the Adult Driver Education Course (https://icanpassdrivingschool.org/moodle/ ) has to be taken before road test .
B. If you do not have a driver’s or US license from a foreign country: Step 1. You must take an instruction permit test at the state Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV); Step 2. On-the-road training can begin. Step 3. You also must take a road test at a DMV if you are ready; if you are 18-20 years old, you must take the Adult Driver Education Course https://icanpassdrivingschool.org/moodle/)before road test.
The On-the-road training begins in a parking lot, then progresses to roads with little traffic, then to busy roads, then finally to a test-site mock test when you are ready.

BTW training fee
Our BTW driver training fee is $60 per hour, which this semester is a discount from the regular summer $65 rate per hour. You must pay at the end of each training session, and each session lasts two hours (training time is calculated from the instructor arrived time-picking you up time-scheduled meeting time to the end of the training-dropping you off time; if you are late than the scheduled meeting time, you have to pay the missed training time. If you have never driven, you can expect to need a total of least 12 hours of training to successfully complete our program. It’s up to you to decide how many hours of training you will need. Our school reserves the right to terminate your training at any time if you do not follow our instructor’s instructions and our instructor believes you are not a safe driver.
Pickup/dropoff fee
If this student is at the central area of the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign (UIUC) campus (County Market area), we will offer pickup and dropoff for free. Otherwise, we will charge the time on the road for the pickup/drop-down services ($60/hour, time from /to the County Market) or you can go to the UIUC (County Market) yourself or go to the instructor arranged location.
Use school car for road test
We offer you the option of driving one of our school cars for your road test; for this, you will be trained till you are a safe driver and you have good driving skills. If our instructors determine that you are not a safe driver yet and are not ready for your road test, we will deny the use of a school car for road test.
Road test fee
If a student uses a school car to take the road test, DMV requires that our instructor drives you to the test venue. The fee for one student is $120 within two hours and $60 per extra hour after the initial two hours. If two or more students take the tests together, the fee is $90 per person for three hours and $60/student number per extra hour for each person after the initial three hours (if one student has a document or other problem(s) and cause waiting time long, the student has to pay $60/hour extra fee after the initial 3 hours). When extra training is needed on site, the fee is $60 per person per hour. If go to Bloomington or long-distance (25 miles or more) locations for road test, $40 more per student will be charged.
Urgent service/overtime Fee:
if student needs urgent service (to be trained / take exam in a rush) or needs an instructor to work overtime (out of 8 am to 5 pm regualr working hours), the extra fee $20/hour will be charged.
Appointment cancellation fee
If fail to show up or did not inform the school 24 hours before a scheduled driving session or driving test, a fee will be charged: It is $60 fee for a missed/cancelled training session; it is $90 or more for a missed/canceled driving test (if more than one student planned to go to the test, this fee amount will be determined based on the time the other student(s) used in the test following the rules in Road Test Fee; if only one student planned for the test, the fee will be $90).
DMV appointment fee
if a student needs our school to help schedule an appointment for DMV permit or road test, $15 fee will be charged each appointment.
Communication:
Always communicate with school and the instructor in a group chat (e.g., text message, WeChat). Private communication with an instructor is not allowed ($60 fee will be charged each time).
Car insurance:
The school car carries the state required insurance coverage. If you are involved in an automobile crash during training with our school, and if it is determined that the crash was your fault, this school will have the limited state required coverage, and if any and all expenses exceed our insurance coverage, the student will be responsible. If the school’s car is damaged and the cause of the damage is determined to be the fault of the student, then a fee of $300 will be assessed to the student. If the accident was caused by the other car(s), the responsibility will be the owner(s)’s and driver(s)’s of the other car(s) but not the driving school’s.

Documents for instruction permit test or road test for international students
(please call DMV and it is your responsibility to make sure that your documents are valid because the situation of each individual is different and the following is just for your reference): I20 and/or other visa forms (take EAD if you have one); print I94 in current month; passport; one proof of address such as a lease with landlord and your signatures, checking or savings bank statements with transactions within the past 90 days, or utility bill within the past 90 days (if you have an SSN card with two address proofs, you can get a real ID); and a Social Security card, if you have one. In addition, also need instruction permit for road test; if you are 18 or older but younger than 21, you must have an Adult Driver Education certificate prior to taking a road test https://icanpassdrivingschool.org/moodle/). If you are applying for a Social Security Number and the application is pending, DMV will not allow you take road test and permit test. If the length of your visa status (e.g., on I20 or 2019) is less than one year or your status will expire within 6 months or the valid start date is in the future, you may not be allowed to take permit/road test (please call DMV to make sure).
