Attendance and Behavior
I understand that my attendance at all rehearsals, performances, football games, parades, competitions, and activities is crucial to the success of the Leigh High School Marching Arts Program.
I am aware of the rehearsal schedule set forth and understand that it is my responsibility to attend all functions on time. This means arriving a minimum of 15 minutes prior to rehearsal.
I understand that if I am late to any rehearsal or performance that my tardiness will count toward and unexcused absence. 3 tardiness incidents results in 1 unexcused absence.
I understand that 4 unexcused absences can result in removal from marching arts program. If I cannot attend for a reason such as illness or family emergency, I will contact the director and head section leadership representative through email as soon as possible. Phone and text messages will not be allowed for absences.
I understand that in order to participate in the Leigh High School Marching Arts Program, that I must carry a 2.0 cumulative GPA or Higher and cannot carry an ‘F’ in any of my classes. A Grade Check will be administered at the 6 and 12 week grading periods. Anyone not meeting this requirement will be ‘Ineligible’ and will not be able to participate in rehearsals or performances.
I understand that it is unacceptable to inform Mr. C or staff or a schedule conflict the day of said conflict. This should be communicated on the attendance forecast.
I understand that if I do not attend the last rehearsal prior to performance that I will not be allowed to participate in the upcoming performance.
Any communication with staff shall by handled through google classroom or through email (cc’ing Mr. C). Students are not to “Friend Request” or “Follow Request” any adults involved in the organization (Staff, Teachers, Administration, Volunteers) on Social Media including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, SnapChat, Instagram, or any other platform outside of Email or Google Classroom.
I understand that all absences must be communicated to the Director and section leaders. All absences will be dealt with on a case-to-case basis. If absences become excessive, a conversation with parents will take place to determine further participation in marching band.
I understand that any use of illegal substances (tobacco, drugs, or alcohol), while with the Leigh Performing Arts will result in immediate referral to the Administration and removal from the Ensemble.
I understand that excessive use of profanity, derogatory language, condescending slurs or anything else of the like, will not be tolerated and is punishable by removal from the ensemble.
I understand harrassment or bullying of any kind (physical, verbal, third party,
technological, social media, etc) will not be tolerated and will result in consequences that could result in removal from the Marching Arts Program.
I agree to follow the Leigh High School student handbook and any applicable behavior contracts set forth by school administration will be followed.
I understand that these policies are to be followed by every member of the marching ensemble regardless of title, section, enrollment status, or age.
I understand that if I work to the best of my ability and contribute my best, the Leigh Marching Arts Program will have an extremely strong year.
