  • This form should not be submitted until all necessary steps are complete. See end of form for option to save and return later. 

    • Committee 
    • Your committee will be comprised of your advisor and at least one other studio faculty member. This committee may be selected at any point during your time inthe BFA, but must be finalized prior to your preliminary review.

    • Final Exhibition 
    • PRELIMINARY REVIEW

      At least one month before exhibition date, schedule your preliminary review with your committee. At this review, a sampling of your current work and your written project proposal will also be discussed. A copy of your written proposal must be given to your committee members at least three days in advance of the review. Afterward, make any necessary changes to your project before the exhibition. 

       

      FINAL PROJECT EVALUATION

      While your show is installed, meet with your committee at the gallery space for the final evaluation of your exhibition. At that time, your Project Report will also be reviewed. You will need to send copies of your Project Report to your committee at least three days in advance of your evaluation.

    • Exit Portfolio 
    • EXIT PORTFOLIO REQUIRED MATERIALS

       

      The following is a checklist of all required materials to be included in your BFA Exit Portfolio, which should be uploaded into a google drive folder provided to you by the Department of Art front desk early in your final semester.

      Please follow these guidelines: 

      • All digital images should be jpeg format and 3000 pixels on the longest side
      • For each portfolio of images, include an image list containing the Title, Medium, Size, and Year for each included work of art
      • All written documents should be .doc, docx, or ,pdf format, and should be edited for quality, grammar, and spelling.

       

      Each of the following should be uploaded to named subfolders within the main google drive folder provided to you: 

      • 1) BFA Application
        • Images submitted in BFA Application
        • Image list
        • Written statement of intent from BFA application

       

      • 2) Final Exhibition
        • Works: Professional quality images of each piece included in your final exhibition
        • Exhibition: Photos of the installed exhibition 
        • Project Report : This is a written explanation, appraisal and justification of your BFA final project. In it, you will review your proposal and describe the course of your studio work, noting any deviations in your original plans, new discoveries encountered, unexpected problems and solutions, and perhaps even new ideas that you wish to pursue as a result of your project. Your report should validate your work visually and conceptually within a contemporary context. You will also review your finished project, demonstrating how your work has accomplished your goals. You are encouraged to cite references that you considered during your research that helped you formulate your ideas and gave you historical perspective. As with the other papers submitted, the justification must be clear, cogent, and professionally presented. Your Project Report should be 3 to 5 pages in length.

       

      • 3) Resumé/CV
        • Submit the Resumé/CV you completed in ART 340: Applications of Creative and Critical Thinking (update if needed)

       

      • 4) Writings
        • Art Contextualization: Include the Art Contextualization paper you completed in ART 326: Current Art Practice
        • Ethical Issues: Include the Ethical Issues paper you completed in ART 340: Applications of Creative and Critical Thinking
        • Five-Year Plan: Include the five-year plan you completed in ART 340: Applications of Creative and Critical Thinking
        • Off-Campus Learning Experience: Write an overview of the off-campus experience including the following information:
          • Location
          • Dates of experience
          • Nature of the experience (study abroad, field trip, internship, etc.)
          • Describe activities and course of events, structure of experience, etc.
          • Describe if and how this off-campus learning experience helped you address the BFA Program Learning Outcomes
    • Finalize and Submit 
    • By signing below, I certify that I have completed the above-listed requirements, and agree to send the contents of this form forward to my committee and BFA advisor for further signature. When the form has been signed by all members of my committee and the BFA advisor, I will upload the signed PDF to my exit portfolio folder.
