    Benchmarks

    Benchmarks establish the gap between current and required practices to design customised improvement plans.    

     

    • There are four tasks and 16 actions that establish the gap
    • Rate each action at the start and repeat quarterly

     

    Each action must be scored on a 4-point scale. Simply review the benchmark questions and respond in terms of the how often you apply the practices.

  • 1. I identify orders to be delivered, prepare a weekly plan, calculate the material requirements and assign resources
  • 2. I visually display the daily schedule that details the sequence of orders, start and finish times and assign team members
  • 3. I complete all the required documentation and ensure all Health and Safety requirements are met

  • 4. I analyse daily performance data, find the root cause of problems and design weekly improvement focus areas
  • 5. I map the current process steps, measure process performance, analyse results and deliver continuous improvement
  • 6. I conduct daily meetings with other supervisors and support staff to improve coordination and optimise resourcing

  • 7. I conduct weekly improvement meetings with teams, agree improvement actions and display
  • 8. I lead team projects to systematically improve processes, build sequential skills and measure results

  • 10. I communicate monthly results to the team, and we discuss what went well, what can be improved and done better
