  • These scholarships have been established in memory of past employees and Board Members. They will be awarded to nursing students enrolled in an accredited nursing program who have chosen Long-Term Care or Assisted Living as their practice area after graduation. Nursing students in an undergraduate or graduate program are also eligible to apply for these scholarships. Scholarships are also available to take the Nurse Leadership Training and Prep Course which prepares Nurse Leaders to take the CDONA Certification exam.Which application do you wish to apply for:

    THIS IS FOR LONG-TERM CARE/POST-ACUTE CARE NURSING ONLY

    NURSING SCHOLARSHIP

    This scholarship will be awarded to a nursing student enrolled in a nursing program who has chosen Long Term Care / Post-Acute Care (SNF or ALF) as their practice area after graduation. Nursing students in an undergraduate or graduate program are eligible to apply. The following criteria have been developed.  Failure to submit all requirements on initial submission will result in the application being rejected.

    1.  Documentation letter showing acceptance, without conditions, to a nursing program, not a general college acceptance, for the 2025-26 academic year must accompany the application.

    2.  Applicant must make a commitment to practice in long term care and/or post-acute care for at least two years after graduation.

    3.  Applicant must provide an organized list of school related expenses with a final total.

    4.  Applicant must submit with their application, an essay of NO LESS THAN 100 WORDS. This essay must include the following:

    •  Briefly introduce yourself, your background and your interest in long-term care/post-acute care nursing including your volunteer and/or employment experience in long term care.

    •  Discuss why you are seeking this degree and share any personal experiences that inspired you to pursue your nursing practice in long-term/post-acute care.

    •  Describe your commitment to the nursing profession, including your short-term and long-term goals in nursing, focusing on how you plan to incorporate this into your two-year commitment to long-term/post-acute care after graduation.

    5.  Please submit a head shot in jpeg format electronically as an attachment.

    6.  Applicant cannot be awarded more than one NADONA scholarship in any one year.

    7.  Scholarship monies in any amount are not required to be awarded if only one applicant applies.

    NADONA NURSE LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP

     

    This scholarship will be awarded to any registered nurse who has chosen Long Term Care / Post-Acute Care (SNF or ALF) as their practice area and desires certification as a Director of Nursing (CDONA).  Any currently registered nurse is eligible to apply.  The following criteria have been developed.  Failure to submit the required criteria on initial submission will result in the application being rejected.

    The applicant must submit, with their application, an essay of NO LESS THAN 100 WORDS. This essay must include the following:

    •  Briefly introduce yourself, your background and your interest in long-term care/post-acute care nursing including your employment experience in long term care/post-acute care.

    •  Discuss why you are seeking this training and share any personal experiences that inspired you to pursue your nursing practice in long-term/post-acute care.

    •  Describe your commitment to the nursing profession, including your short-term and long-term goals in nursing, focusing on how you plan to incorporate this leadership training into your practice following successful completion.
