The Edmonton Humane Society's (EHS) Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program is offered during the warmer months to spay/neuter free-roaming/feral cats found OUTSIDE city limits (within 200 km (two hours) of Edmonton) who are healthy.
For TNR inquiries for cats within Edmonton City Limits, please visit the City of Edmonton's website here.
TNR clinics can only run from May to September due to weather conditions. This year, we are making an important shift in our approach to ensure the long-term effectiveness of our TNR program. With the support of Parkland County, we will be focusing our TNR efforts specifically in this area. As a result, we are unable to offer direct support for colonies outside of Parkland County at this time. This decision is intended to have a greater long-term impact on community cat populations and their welfare, and we hope to expand our reach to more counties in the future.
We are continuing to accept TNR requests from all areas to better understand where services are needed most and to support future partnerships with additional counties.
While we can’t provide TNR services outside of Parkland County in 2025, we will offer support where possible for other aspects of community cat care, such as food, winter shelters, or colony care advice. If you need assistance, please reach out—we’re happy to help as resources allow.
