2027 IPWEA Aotearoa / New Zealand Public Works Forum
  • Resilient Infrastructure: Ready for Today, Built for Tomorrow
Building stronger communities, infrastructure and futures.

The 2027 Forum will explore how New Zealand's public works sector can build resilience, strengthen capability, and deliver sustainable infrastructure outcomes for current and future generations. As communities face the growing impacts of climate change, increasing infrastructure demands, workforce pressures, and funding constraints, this event will focus on practical strategies for planning ahead while delivering essential services today.

We are seeking engaging and insightful presentations aligned with one or more of the following sub-themes:

Climate-Ready Infrastructure: Adapting public works and infrastructure systems to increasing weather extremes, climate risks, and changing community expectations.

Future-Focused Asset Management: Planning, funding, renewing, and maintaining infrastructure to deliver long-term value, resilience, and sustainable outcomes.

Workforce Capability for the Future: Building the skills, leadership, and organisational capacity needed to support a resilient and high-performing public works sector.

Resilience Funding and Affordability: Balancing today's service delivery needs with growing investment pressures, funding challenges, and long-term resilience objectives.
