Job Overview:
As a Content Editor at Volta Talent Strategies, you will be responsible for cultivating, growing and maintaining the articles, podcasts, videos, resources and other content on our talent management platform. You will work closely with our Product Manager to ensure that the content on the platform is, and continues to be, engaging, informative and current for law firm attorneys, law firm administrators (particularly in the professional development function), and coaches, who will rely on it to support attorneys’ professional development, as well as career transitions. You will also collaborate with the Chief Growth and Strategy Officer and CEO, as well as our marketing and sales lead, to ensure that the content aligns with our overall product marketing strategy and supports our sales efforts.
This is a freelance position. You must be able to commit to approximately 10-15 hours per week and be available during business hours (New York time). The hourly rate for this independent contractor role is $35-50 per hour, depending on experience.
As a freelancer, you will be responsible for your own taxes and complying with New York State and New York City labor laws. It is recommended that you consult with a tax professional to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:

Managing the entire content catalog for our digital talent management platform, ensuring that the resources are added, removed and edited as appropriate to keep the catalog current

Editing resources to be more engaging, informative and current

Tracking submissions by colleagues and editing as appropriate to conform with platform guidelines

Supporting the Product Manager in planning and executing on the creation of resources in various formats (e.g., articles, podcasts, video, and resources)

Creating and maintaining a content calendar to ensure that relevant seasonal content is included and removed, as appropriate, throughout the year

Reviewing and editing older resources, as appropriate, to ensure they remain relevant to platform users

Monitoring external resources that may be relevant for addition to the platform

Communicating with team members to solicit submissions to continue to grow the content catalog

Ensure that all content is accurate, well-researched, and adheres to the company's brand guidelines

Collaborate with the Product Manager, as well as the sales and marketing team to ensure that content aligns with the overall product marketing strategy and supports lead generation and sales efforts

Monitor industry trends and news to identify opportunities for content creation and thought leadership
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field

At least 3 years of experience in content editing and/or content creation, in a professional services environment

Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to ensure content is high-quality and matches brand and platform guidelines

Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other stakeholders

Proficiency in Office 365 and content management systems

Knowledge of the legal industry and talent management is a huge plus
