  • PLAYER CENTERED

I am committed to serve, to sacrifice, and to work on behalf of the PLAYERS I will lead. I will honor their aspirations, their mindset, their challenges in growing, by nurturing, caring, directing, leading, enforcing, holding to high standards, engaging, and communicating with THE PLAYER. I will RESPECT the PLAYER. I will NURTURE and PROTECT the PLAYER and the PLAYER'S SAFETY and INTEREST. When needed I will seek counsel, assistance, or resources to support or better my efforts, never allowing my own pride to interfere with my best service to THE PLAYER. I commit to these actions in spite of the player's effort, circumstances, response or performance. My objective is to lead, develop, and transform, and my leadership towards this end, on behalf of THE PLAYER, will be consistent, persistent, and when needed persevering. I am "all in" for this soccer year on behalf of the PLAYERS I will lead.

  • EXPAND THE CULTURE

I understand the importance of club culture and team culture, and agree to help build, sustain, and grow the culture of the club and the culture within my team. I acknowledge culture is quite simply what I speak and communicate, my actions and responses to my environment, and what and how I think.  I know culture is shaped by the people of the community, via each small thought, word, and action, and I accept this responsibly in being a part of expanding culture valued by WSA.  I understand the club's model to be player centric, value driven, and family oriented. I respect the club core values, understand their meaning and will continue to strive to make those part of my daily actions. Further, I understand the mission of WSA Soccer, and I want to be an advocate for this mission, and will do my best to serve others towards this mission.

  • COMMUNITY & DIVERSITY THE WSA WAY

I understand that the "WSA Way" is significant to my role, and agree to implement club curriculum in my training, via The WSA Way Game Model; and to attend in-house coach development, open to my own learning and development; to provide my own feedback and input to help develop curriculum and methodologies via community; and to impart lessons of leadership and soccer driven methods from the club's WSA Way Model. I understand the club respects my individuality and my unique qualities I bring as a teacher of the game, leader of people, and most importantly teacher of youth. The club will be expected to empower my individual leadership and teaching strengths. I further understand the club wishes me to consider the club's "model" as a lens with which I develop my own unique model. I will respect the diversity of the club, it's many coaches and backgrounds, at the same time attempting to generate a common, unified, and woven theme of the "WSA Way" and the club ethos, throughout my team and other teams at The Side. I acknowledge WSA's strong belief that we are our best when cooperating, collaborating, sharing, empowering, and challenging EACH OTHER.  I am all in to BUILD THE COMMUNITY.

  • DEVELOPMENT

WSA is a place of development. We develop youth players, parents, referees, and coaches. WSA promotes a "growth mindset" towards development. I respect the process required. I am willing to grow and be shaped. I aim to help shape and grow others. I am committed to leading and helping growth in my players and parents. I am prepared and ready to adapt, evolve, and respond, in order to grow and improve.I will embrace "Fail Forward" as a concept in teaching and leading others.

  • COMMITMENT & LOYALTY

I am henceforth committing to coach for WSA Soccer Club for this seasonal year. I am committed, decided, and ready. I understand this commitment to THE PLAYERS requires my focus and attention. I am prepared to sacrifice, and when necessary to suffer, to help grow something great together. Should anything change, at any time, I understand my responsibility to immediately communicate to the club's Executive & Administrative officers. I understand the importance of this commitment as a responsibility to others. While I understand the club respects my need to make decisions for my best interest, I understand and commit to the notion that I am here first to serve others, and my responsibility to my best interests will not supersede any interests of the players I serve or my team.

  • HONESTY

WSA Soccer leadership, administration, and management will tell the TRUTH and communicate HONESTLY.  Once assigned to a specific role within the club I understand the following: For team coaching assignments I am agreeing that if I wish to coach in the same USSF age division within a 50 mile radius of WSA Soccer at another club in the subsequent year, that I will notify the respective Directors of Coaching of this intention by March 1. WSA Soccer has traditionally permitted such movement of coaches who wish to find new coaching homes. WSA Soccer does not intend to restrict coach movement, progression, or relocation. WSA Soccer does expect opportunity to receive feedback from departing coaches to help improve within, grow, and develop a club model conducive to a working environment that is great for player experience & player development. Thus, WSA does expect honest and transparent feedback regarding coach movement. WSA Soccer does not intend to tolerate coaches who leverage control and influence of players, families, children, or their teams, for money, power, or accolade that might be offered by another soccer organization.

  • GAME DAY CODE OF CONDUCT

The Side has high expectations for players, parents and coaches to respect the game, the opponent, all the participants in the game, and create a positive environment for players to compete. This environment is dictated by the standards that are promoted within our team and club settings. The expectations are that each club/team member will follow guidelines for game day behavior, within the WSA Code of Conduct.   We believe this promotes an environment that will give the players the responsibility to interact with the game the right way and respond to adversity in the right way. The goal of codes of conduct is to create a prime environment for players to be their best. We want to constantly make the game about the players and their experience, never losing sight of what matters most.
