This document is intended to provide general guidance to prospective international students who are considering applying to DP Training and obtaining an Australian Student visa. The Australian Department of Home Affairs require student visa holders to be Genuine Temporary Entrants (GTE When assessing your application to study at DP, we will also assess whether you are likely to satisfy the Home Affairs GTE requirements.

What are the Genuine Temporary Entrant requirements?

To satisfy the Genuine Temporary Entrant requirements, your individual circumstances must demonstrate that you genuinely intend to stay in Australian temporarily for the purpose of study. If you are under 18 years of age, the intentions of your parent, legal guardian or spouse will also be considered.

1. Did you, your spouse or any dependents ever have an Australia visa application refused or cancelled? If yes, please provide more details.*

2. Reasons for undertaking your selected course(s). How will this program benefit your future? What do you like about the program structure?*

3. Reasons for choosing DP Training as your education provider. How did you get to know about DP Training? Why have you chosen DP Training over other Australian RTOs or Overseas providers? What research have you done that led you to choose DP Training?*

4. Reasons for choosing to study in Australia rather than your home country.*

5. Relevance of your selected course to your previous education/working history. If there is a gap of more than 12 months since your previous studies and your intended study at DP, explain the reason for the gap.*

6. Value of the course to your future when you go back to your home country. What are your educational plans and proposed educational pathways once you have completed the applied qualification? What are your job prospects and salary expectations in your home country upon completion of this DP Training program? How does this compare to the salary you would receive if you were to complete a course in your own country?*

7. Ties to your home country that support an intention to return after you finish your study in Australia. Do you own a property in your home country? Do you have spouse or kids waiting for you in your home country while you are studying in Australia?*

8. Your financial background. How will you pay for your tuition fees and living costs in Australia? Will your parents be your sponsor? What do they do for a living? Do you or your sponsor have adequate savings and income to support your living in Australia?*

1. Complete the SOP Form (this form) and the Application Form.

2. You will be notified whether you have been awarded the scholarship when you receive your Letter of Offer.
