  • Directions

    The application is split into 2 sections: Applicant Information and Parent/Guardian Information. We ask that the child/young person applying be present as you complete Section 1.

  • Process

    We have a standard, thorough and fair process for joining the Wild Earth community. We see every prospective community member as a unique individual and assess each situation on a case-by-case basis.

  • Step 1: Apply or Express Interest (note, if only interest is expressed, an application must be received prior to integration period). It is also advised to send an email to hello@wildearthclare. 

    Step 2: Visit on an open day or a scheduled date, along with parent(s)/guardian(s).

    Step 3: The Wild Earth team will meet with all parents/caregivers of the child(ren).

    Step 4: Child/young person is invited for a two day visit on their own.

    Step 5: Following community discussion, child/young person is invited to join the community (this includes a two-week integration period). 

    At any time throughout this process, we may invite the parents/guardians to meet with us to discuss expectations, community agreements, etc.

With this freedom comes great responsibility and we must trust you to be safe and responsible at all times.   • Following the "Integration Period" (see Overview), will you commit to your child attending Wild Earth full time (4 days)?
  • Wild Earth builds resilience through restorative practices and nature immersion. Young people are encouraged to spend time outdoors in all weather. They are required to have appropriate gear to keep themselves warm and dry. Are you OK with your child being outside (in weather-appropriate clothing) in all safe weather?*
  • In line with the above statement, we are aware that parents/guardians may have expectations of learning for their children. In self-directed education, children and young people are permitted to advocate for themselves and it is the responsibility of the adults to refrain from imposition and coercion. Do you accept this?*
  • Wild Earth celebrates all people and their differences. We do not shy away from conversations led by the young people around topics that some may consider uncomfortable (LGBTQIA+, humanitarianism, human rights, climate issues, etc.). All sensitive topics are discussed through a fact-based, age-appropriate approach and are led by the young people. Do you accept this statement and will you support your child(ren) and family by seeking resources (through Wild Earth or independently) to continue the conversations at home should the need arise?*
