This is a problem. Stop and turn in your gear for full inspection and get a replacement.
This could be a problem. Do not use the damaged SLR but use the good leg. Turn in at the end of the sift.
This is not a problem if the damage is slight and the SLR still functions.

Put up Danger tape after removing old leg to protect from fall hazard.
Before removing old, set up hard barricades for guardrails and/or make a strong secure cover for the hole.
Remove old leg, then try to find something to protect others from the hole.
