2024 SCHOLARSHIP GENERAL INFORMATION

The Johnnie Mae Enterprises Scholarship Program was established to ensure professional and personal development for continuous growth, advancement, and success through education and community involvement.

The Johnnie Mae Enterprises Scholarship Committee will determine, annually, the number and amount of scholarships given, as funding warrants. This year, the Johnnie Mae Enterprises Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce that we intend to award 3 applcants for the 2024-2025 school year. Three scholarships, up to $2500, will be awarded to:
- Graduating high school seniors
- Students already enrolled in or attending an establishment, accredited college or university
ELIGIBILITY

Applicants for the Johnnie Mae Enterprises Scholarship Program must be planning to attend or currently attending an accredited college or university. The applicant must have a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA (4.00 scale).

AWARD CRITERIA

Recipients of the scholarships are chosen through a process that evaluates the following areas:
- Essay Quality (35 Points)
- Grade Point Average (25 Points)
- Community/School Involvement (20 Points)
- Interview (20 Points)

APPLICATION PROCESS

The scholarship application package includes:
1. Submission of online Scholarship Application. The online scholarship is available by clicking Next at the bottom of the page.

NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS

Scholarship recipients will be notified via email or phone, if email not available, by July 15, 2024. Scholarship proceeds will be sent directly to the applicant's school. Johnnie Mae Enterprises Scholarship Committee decisions are final. Essays and other application documentation will not be returned.

HELPFUL REMINDERS
1. Please ensure that you complete the entire application.
2. Document your involvement in School and Community activities over the past year (1/1/2023 thru 1/1/2024). Include awards received and work experience during the same time period. Save the form using your name as the filename. Then upload your form.
3. Request transcripts from your school early to ensure they arrive by the deadline. Transcripts must be post marked by May 25, 2024 (by midnight Central Standard Time). Remember, only Official Transcripts are accepted.
4. The school should send the most current transcript available. The information populated in the application should align with the transcript.
5. Please ensure essay meets the 250 word minimum / 500 word maximum guideline for high school students and the 500 word minimum / 800 word maximum for college students.
6. Carefully review the application for accuracy before it is submitted.
7. All application materials must be received on June 1, 2024 by midnight Central Standard Time.
8. The online application will remain active as long as your browser is open. If you close your browser prior to submitting the application, your information will be lost.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. If a student has been awarded a scholarship in a previous year, are they eligible to apply again?
  Yes. If a new application is submitted and the student is selected again, it is possible for a person to receive more than one scholarship over the years from Johnnie Mae Enterprise.
2. How are scholarship recipients selected?
  The JME Scholarship Committee selects the scholarship winners based on the criteria above and all decisions of the committee are final.
3. How are scholarship recipients notified?
  The JME Scholarship Committee will notify all scholarship recipients via email, on July 15, 2024. The names will also be posted on the scholarship page of the Johnnie Mae Enterprise website.
4. If I would like to make changes to the application I submitted, can I resubmit my application?
  We recommend that you carefully review the application for accuracy before it is submitted. If you have questions or revisions to the submitted application, please contact Shaneka via email at johnniemaeenterprises@gmail.com.
