  • Application Instructions

    1. Be certain all questions are answered completely.
    2. Upload typed essay detailing how a scholarship from PGCAC will help you achieve your future goals. (Maximum one page, 12-point font, double-spaced).
    3. Upload a recent portrait size (5x7) color photograph. (No proofs, personality or scanned photos)
    4. Submit official sealed transcript electronically to scholarship@pgcacdst.org or by mail to:  PGCACDST/DELTA FOUNDATION |  Scholarship Committee | P.O Box 97  Greenbelt, MD  20768
    5. Submit full application including list of all awards, community service, school, and job-related activities participated in during the freshman, sophomore, and junior years on sheets provided (required format).
    6. Upload current Community Service recommendation letter (2023-2024 academic year) - MUST BE SIGNED, DATED AND TYPED and on the organization's official letterhead and cannot be from an immediate family member.
    7. Upload current recommendation letter from a school official, such as a teacher, guidance counselor, advisor, or professor (2023-2024 academic year) - MUST BE SIGNED, DATED AND TYPED and on the school's official letterhead and cannot be from an immediate family member.
    8. Merit Need Scholarship applicants only: All Merit Need scholarship applicants MUST upload a copy of their 2023-2024 Student Aid Report (SAR), obtained by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. The applicant will not be considered for the Merit Need Scholarship if a copy of his/her SAR is not attached, listing the Expected Family Contribution index/number.
    9. If applying for more than one scholarship, please check all applicable scholarships and include all supporting documentation.

    10. Private school applicants must include grading scale on official school letterhead with application.
    11. Application MUST be signed by the student and parent/guardian.
    12. Application MUST be received by midnight on Friday, January 5, 2024. There will be NO extensions. Secure transcripts and other documents early. Do NOT send application materials in several separate submissions. Only your transcript may arrive separately. ** All other materials must be uploaded and received by midnight on Friday, January 5, 2024. All information on this form is considered confidential. All materials, including the photo become the property of PGCACDST.  Please direct all questions to the Scholarship Committee Chair at scholarship@pgcacdst.org.

  • SCHOLARSHIP SELECTIONS AND CRITERIA

    You may apply for multiple scholarships. Select ALL applicable scholarships for which you wish to apply and provide ALL supporting documentation.

    • Must be a United States citizen and a resident of Prince George's County, Maryland
    • Must be a graduating high school senior
    • Must be an active member of one of PGCAC’s Youth Programs - Delta GEMS, Jabberwock or EMBODI
    • Must plan to attend a four (4) year institution of higher education in the United States during the upcoming academic year (award is based on actual enrollment) 
    • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
    • Chair or Co-Chair fo Delta GEMS, Cotillion or EMBODI must verify in writing applicant's active participation in the PGCAC youth program
    • Must be a United States citizen and a resident of Prince George's County, Maryland
    • Must be a graduating high school senior
    • Must plan to attend a four (4) year institution of higher education in the United States during the upcoming academic year (award is based on actual enrollment)
    • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above and have shown significant improvement in his or her school work over a two-year period
    • Must be a United States citizen and a resident of Prince George's County, Maryland
    • Must be a female graduating high school senior
    • Must plan to attend a four (4) year institution of higher education in the United States during the upcoming academic year (award is based on actual enrollment)
    • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
    • Must be a United States citizen and a resident of Prince George's County, Maryland
    • Must be a female graduating high school senior
    • Must plan to attend a four (4) year institution of higher education in the United States during the upcoming academic year (award is based on actual enrollment)
    • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
    • Must include SAR statement with eligibility score

    Please note that all Merit Need scholarship applicants MUST demonstrate financial need by uploading a copy of their 2023-2024 Student Aid Report (SAR), obtained by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. You may submit the FAFSA form beginning on October 1st each year. Visit the website for the U.S. Department of Education to find the FAFSA form and to learn more about that application process.

    • Must attend Prince George’s Community College during the upcoming academic year (Award is based on actual enrollment)
    • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above

    • Must plan to attend a four (4) year institution of higher education in the United States during the upcoming academic year and major in the field of education (award is based on actual enrollment)
    • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
    • Must be a United States citizen and a resident of Prince George's County, Maryland
    • Must be a female graduating high school senior
    • Must plan to attend a four (4) year institution of higher education in the United States the upcoming academic year and major in the field of Business Administration, Business Management, or Accounting (Award is based on actual enrollment and verification of applicant’s major in the field of Business Administration, Business Management, or Accounting)
    • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
