Music Theatre Audition Intensive 2023

Participants will have the opportunity to work with industry professionals and learn the ins and outs of the audition process. Ideal for Intermediate and Advanced singers and actors.

Prep two songs and one monologue
- Work with industry professionals to get audition ready.
- Songs should be contrasting selections (at least one musical theatre, the other can be a pop/rock song) and monologue should be from a published play.
Mock auditions
- Never auditioned before? See what it's like before the real thing.
- The week will begin with a mock audition where you will perform your prepared material for the panel.
Group performance classes
- Work your prepared pieces in a group setting, learn from the educators and your classmates.
Private coaching
- Get one, 45 minute private coaching sessions.
Headshot session
- A professional photographer will provide each participant with a headshot photoshoot and one (1) edited digital headshot.
End of week final performance
- Invite family and friends (space is limited) for an end of week performance where all participants will showcase their work.

Informed Consent and Acknowledgement

In case of injury or accident of any kind at the Guelph Youth Music Centre (GYMC), including any injury or accident occurring during off-site activities, neither the GYMC or any employee or volunteer at the GYMC will be held liable for any injuries, property damage, or lost property. I hereby release the GYMC, its employees or volunteers from all claims for damage, including but not limited to personal injury damages and damage to property, which may arise out of any such injury or accident involving the named participant in this program.

In the event of illness or injury while attending the above program, including any off-site activities included in this program, I hereby give permission for the named participant to receive emergency medical treatment from a qualified medical provider as necessary.

I/We acknowledge that it is up to the discretion of the Conductor to remove my child from the program at any time if my child fails to respect the rules of the program and the safety of others. If this occurs, I/we acknowledge that I/we will be expected to remove my child from the program as soon as possible.

I/We acknowledge that my child is responsible for brining their own lunch, snacks and water bottle, and that the GYMC is a peanut-free building.

I/We acknowledge that throughout the week that my child will be outdoors and should come prepared for the weather, and that it is my responsibility to ensure that my child has appropriate sunscreen, hat, change of clothes, and appropriate footwear for indoor and outdoor play.

Refunds may be requested prior to August 14th, 2023. Any refund requested prior to August 14th, 2023, at 5:00pm will be subject to a 20% administration fee. After said time, refunds will be issued at the discretion of The Guelph Youth Music Centre. Please ensure that your order is correct before submitting it.

I/We understand that I/we have agreed to the above waiver by registering the participant for the program. By registering for the program, I am stating my agreeance to the terms and conditions herein. By purchasing or registering online with the Guelph Youth Music Centre, you agree to electronic communications from the Guelph Youth Music Centre.
