In today's market, it's basically impossible to google and find tips, resources, and guides on job searching, interviewing, networking, and how to update your resume, that isn't some blog post that is just a replica of all the other sites in those search results.

 

As a job seeker, I hated the al carte career services that cost $200 a pop. It was almost as if I couldn't get any real help without debating between my bills or paying for a new resume or a coaching session. We all understand time is money, but $200 FOR A RESUME!! Don't get me started on staffing agencies that act like they're helping jobseekers get jobs, but be leaving us hanging...and only really care about the client's bottom line. Let's leave them in 2022...You don't even get helped by agencies unless you match their current roles, they don't work with you on resume building or transferring your skills to a different industry. But we do!

 

We're an early-stage startup with limited hands. We would love to work with individuals on a one-on-one personalized basis, but unfortunately, we don't have the bandwidth. Each week in this program there will be a survey to gauge where you're currently at in your job search and if there is anything else we can add to the program to better serve you.

 

We can help you get placed in a role, but you must be mindful of a few things. One, you must have an updated resume and/or cover letter so we have an idea of your overall work experience. Two, have a few ideas of what job you want and what direction you're trying to take in your career. Three, you have to be open to both remote & on-site roles and apply your skillset to different areas (within the scope of what you want to do, instead of being set on 1 specific job title). Four, be respectful of our time, we help and work with dozens of candidates so we can't always get back to each of you on a 24-72 hour basis.

 

Lastly, keep your options open. I (Jachonet Hill), was just in your shoes...honestly still am. So, I get it. Settling for something less than you deserve when you've worked so hard to be where you're at is disheartening and disrespectful. But, this is not the same job market from 2021. I'm still stuck in 2019 and the job market has completely changed since then and I can't even comprehend what it's transitioned to. But...we gotta pay the bills. So, if you're a jobseeker who's been unemployed for months it's time to find something to pay those bills while you figure out what job/career you'll be fulfilled by and what kind of company you want to work for.
