EMT Programs Offered by CTCCE
EMT Hybrid Program
The EMT Hybrid Program combines online learning with structured, in-person skill development. All didactic coursework is completed online and the program is delivered in two required phases:
EMT Prep Course: This course must be completed prior to registering for an EMT Completion Course. It provides the foundational knowledge necessary for success in the program.
EMT Completion Course: The Completion Course includes additional online coursework and in-person training. In-person sessions meet twice per week during an academic semester. For scheduling convenience, CTCCE follows the VCU academic calendar. All in-person sessions are held at West Hospital on the VCU Academic Campus.
Traditional EMT Courses
Traditional EMT courses are primarily in-person and meet once or twice per week over 16–20 weeks. While some coursework is completed online, the majority of didactic instruction occurs in the classroom, along with all required skill training.
Students must apply to a specific Traditional EMT cohort.
