TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Accidents & Emergencies: Our grooming services are carried out with complete attention. Given that accidents or problems may occur because of the equipment or sharp tools we work with. For unforseen incidents or situations, where there has been an incident or injuries sustained by the pet while grooming ,the owner will be informed immediately and pet will have to be taken to the nearest Vet for treatment buy the pet owner. In the events were a dog got injured due to severe matting, the likelihood of cuts or injuries may occur due to the hair closely matted down to the skin, the pet owner has to pay the vet bills. In situations, where there was excessive movement of dog or dog gets hurt due to been too difficult while been groomed, the pet owner will be notified and vet bills will be paid by the pet owner. An incident report form will be filled and documented.
Liability Waiver: While Petloft dog grooming takes all reasonable precaution to ensure the safety of pets, the owner agrees to release and hold harmless petloft dog grooming from any liability arising from accidents, injuries, health issues during or after grooms.
Media: We love to take before and after photos during the grooming process and share them on our media channels to promote our business. Only name of pet and services offered is displayed. If you do not want this, please notify us.
Health: I understand that grooming can be very stressful for some pet and i will inform the groomer or the service about the health conditions and behaviour that may affect the services or the psychology of the pet during grooming. I also understand it is important to ensure my pet is up to date with their vaccination. I consent to disclosing all health condition, allergies, and past behaviourial issues before the appointment. Petloft dog grooming cannot be held responsible for any accidents or mishaps resulting from non-disclosure of your dogs medical condition or behavior. Petloft dog grooming will not be liable for any medical or vet costs. However, the client/Owner(s) accepts and grants permission for petloft to obtain emergency Veterinary treatment for your dog at the client/Owner(s) expense should it become necessary. In the event of medical emergency, petloft dog grooming will make reasonable effort to contact the owner, if immediate care is necessary, the pet owner authorises petloft to seek Vet assistance with all associated costs paid by the pet owner. Petloft is not responsible for any injuries caused by pre-existing conditions, matted coats or pet difficult behaviour during grooming. Pet showing signs of illness , parasites, flea or tick or skin infection may be refused service until they have sort appropriate Vet help. A cleaning feewill be charged if parasites were found during the grooming.
Safety Policy: All dogs walking in for appointment will have to be on a leash. I understand that when my dog starts to show signs of aggression towards my groomer, I consent for the groomer to safely use a muzzle and groomer's helper for the safety of my pet and groomer and if this cannot be managed, the groomer has rights to immediately seize the grooming and contact me to pick up my pet. I consent to having my pet picked up if grooming cannot be attained because of dog's behaviour or difficulties. Full fees still applies. we will endevour to always work according to the dog's pace and utilize desensitization and counter-conditoning approach. However, we reserve the right to seize all grooming if dog appears to be too stressed or aggressive. Full fees still apply.
De-matting: if your dog's coat is matted, you acknowledge and agree that it may not be possible for petloft dog grooming salon to achieve the style that you want. petloft dog grooming salon will do her best to meet your requirement. Dematting is charged at $20 per 15minutes. This is charged due to the additional time it takes and the wear it causes on our tools and blade. A severely matted/ knotted or tangled coat may result in us having to clip/shave your dog's coat short which is the kindest and humane way to treat your pet. Dematting and seperating knots/ tangles can be very painful for dogs. our priority is the safety, comfort and welfare of your pet. we want their visit here to be calm and stress free so as to improve their grooming session with us. Under the animal welfare ACT, all animals are to be protected from pain, injury, suffering and disease. we will work to de-mat/brush any hair that maybe salvaged under strict condition that it causes no pain or suffering to your dog. If we feel dog may be stressed or suffering, we will seize de-matting immediately and full de-matt fee still applies as it requires time and patience. If matting is severe, the pet owner accepts responsibility for the risk associated with this process.
Double -coated breed: Here at petloft, we do not recommend shaving down a double coated dog as this have a long term negative impact on the dog. the top coat is called the guard hair which protects them from the elements or physical inuries while the underneath coat helps them to regulate their body temperature in both summer/ winter season. clipping their coat exposes them to sun burn, makes dog to loose their capacity of keeping warm or cooling down and also exposes them to risk of injuries or insect bites. They could also end up with hair loss in the long term. their coat will be become thicker making it difficult for your pet to regulate their body temperature. We will only clip if it is recommended by the Vet or in situations where we feel is absolutely necessary for the health and well-being of the dog. examples of double coated breed are: pomeranians, siberian Husky, chow chow, German shepherd, Labrador etc.
Cancellation & Rescheduling: We understand circumstances can happen and unexpected events can come up. The pet owner can cancel or change the appointment 24 hours before the scheduled appointment. Late cancellation of less than 24hrs notice maybe subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the grooming service. The groomer has the right to reschedule the appointment based on unforeseen circumstances or family demands but will reschedule based on the day and time suitable to both groomer and client.
No show policy: A "no show" is when a client misses an appointment without calling or texting to cancel. First no-show: a friendly reminder will be sent, second no show: A 50% deposit will be required to secure all future bookings. third no-show: we reserve right to refuse future services.
Difficult behaviour: In the event of a pet making multiple attempts to bite the groomer, our equipment and tools will be adjusted to the lowest setting to making it more tolerant for the dog, lots of reassurance, working according to the dog’s pace, desensitization and counter- conditioning approach will be used. lots of break can be given in between for the sake of the dog. if this cannot be managed, a muzzle or a groomer’s helper will be used for the safety of dog and groomer. Groomer’s helper are very save to use for dogs as it ensures the dogs are properly secured on the grooming table minimizing at least 90% of the dog getting hurt and groomer getting bite. For the safety of your pet and groomer, we reserve the right to cease grooming if a pet becomes too stressed or aggressive, partial charges may still apply.
Pick up policy: please collect your dog within 30 minutes of been notified the groom is complete. A late pick up fee of $10 per 15 minutes may be applied to cover the extra time and care.
Late Arrivals: Arrivals upto 15 minutes late will incur a $10 fee, Arrivals more than 30 minutes will need to be rescheduled especially if it affects the next client.
Payment & Pricing: We accept cash, debit and credit card, bank transfer, all prices are only a guide and tend to change based on pet coat condition, weight of dog, when last it was groomed. payment is due in full at the time of service. Prices are subject to change without prior notice. We usually take time to announce price increase or changes in our social media platforms.
Privacy: All client records are kept confidental and will not be disclosed to a third party except with client's permission
Changes to Terms and Condition: Petloft reserves the right to update these Terms and conditions at any given time. Updated Terms will be made available on our website or provided upon request. Thank you for respecting our policies & supporting our small business!
