3rd Annual Hatchet Hoops 3v3 Basketball Tournament - Player Registration (Sept. 12th, 2026) *Part of Family Fun Festival

Tournament Rules

 

General

1. Show Good Sportsmanship
2. No Foul Language. Excessive talk will result in a technical foul and or leading up to dismissal from tournament.
3. Minimum of 3 players, max of 4 players. 
4. All players must play on 1 team.
5. Monitors will be at each court making sure games are ran smoothly. 
6. This is a double elimination tournament.
7. Each team is give 1 timeout per game (one minute). 
8. Player substitution is available after any dead ball situation. 
9. Every reasonable effort will be made to ensure the safety and integrity of the facilities provided, but we cannot assume any responsibility for lost or stolen articles, or for personal injuries sustained by players.
10. Jewelry (earrings, rings, watches, etc...), hats, bandanas, and/or casts are not allowed to be worn by players during tournament games. Any player that refuses to remove any such item prior to play, is not eligible to participate in that game.
11. First place winners will be given a trophy.

 

Scoring

1. Points are scored as such: 2 points from behind the arc (3pt. point line) and 1 point inside the arc.
2. All games will be 15 mins long. The game ends with the team who has the most points at the end of the time expired or first team to go to 15, win by 2 with max points to 20.
3. If a shot is missed, and the opposintg team grabs it with a rebound, they must "clear the ball" by dribbling the ball behind the arc first before attempting to pass or score.
4. If there is a tie-breaker at the end of regulation, both teams will do a coin flip and the winner will receive the ball first. First team to score a basket (1pt or 2pt shot) wins. 
5. The poesession of ball alternates after every made basket. Offense must check ball to defense at the top of the arc. (No Make it, Take It)

 

Fouls

1. Players are to call their own fouls. The team who called foul, will check the ball up to the top of the arc to the defense. Court Monitors may call fouls as well. 
2. No Free Throws at this tournament

11AM-2PM @ Bad Axe Park (B-ball Courts)

 All Teams Check-in-Sept. 12th @10:45AM

Games Start at 11:00AM

Awards will start at 1:45PM

* Timeframe for awards are subject to change. Could get done earlier depending on teams per division.

 

 

** Please note after your submission of the player registration form, you will be re-directed to complete the Waiver Form. It must be completed and submitted in order to participate in the tournament. Every player must have a waiver form filled out by their parent/guardian. Thank you!
