Eligibility Requirements:
Nominees must be individual residents of Virginia who are employed in the region. They should be established business leaders with a strong record of innovation in their fields, outstanding performance in their businesses and/or a clear track record of meaningful community involvement. In addition, to serve as an active member of the advisory board of directors, you must select an alternate individual who will represent you in the event you are not able to attend our events, meetings, and other activities where your presence is required. Nominees should work for a business or organization based in Washington, D.C. metropolitan region or one of the following jurisdictions:
City of Alexandria, Va.
City of Manassas, Va.
City of Falls Church, Va.
Arlington County, Va.
Fairfax County, Va.
Loudoun County, Va.
Prince William County, Va.
Nominations will be judged on three criteria: professional accomplishments, community leadership, as well as awards and milestones. Each of these should be addressed in the nomination.
Nominations should include as much detail as possible about a nominee's specific business and community accomplishments. We're looking for real tangible results, example: "He/She increased the company's sales last year by 40 percent, bringing in major new clients" or "He/She raised an additional $500,000 to help send 20 more kids to college."
Self-nominations are welcome. In addition to the online form, a high-resolution, 300 dpi, professional quality digital photo (headshot) of the nominee must be submitted.
Please answer all questions completely and refrain from any supplementary collateral. Any nominations that are submitted in a press release or boilerplate manner will not be accepted. In some cases, bullet points are preferred for getting across information in the nomination form.
