Role Information + Expression of Interest Form
  • Our Programs

  • Material Institute's flagship program 24 Carrot Gardens (24CG) supports school kitchen garden programs in 24 partner primary + high schools across Tasmania. 24CG's programs deliver hands-on, garden-to-plate lessons to whole classes and/or smaller groups of young learners in the authentic setting of the school kitchen + garden.

  • Program Roles

  • Our school kitchen garden specialists apply their food growing and/or cooking skills, plus an understanding of how to engage + support diverse learners, to deliver hands-on pleasurable food education to students in our partner primary + high schools. Specialists are employed by DECYP as Teacher Assistants and are supported by a program Lead Teacher and the 24CG team.

  • Partner School Locations

  • 24CG partner schools are generally situated in the Glenorchy, Clarence + Brighton regions in southern Tasmania, and between Burnie + Launceston in the north.

  • Recruitment into School Program Roles

  • From time to time, our partner schools advise 24CG that they have a kitchen garden program vacancy to fill. 24CG supports schools by selecting candidates from this EOI register and getting in touch to check their current capacity. 24CG will then collate a list of candidates for the school to consider.

If you're seeking part time work- usually two school days per week during school terms- and think you have the requisite qualities we'd love to hear from you via this EOI. 24CG will get in touch with you if a school role emerges for which we think you might be suited.
