  • Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® - Epsilon Chi Omega Chapter Provided by The Palmetto Pearls Foundation

  • Founded in 2019, The Palmetto Pearls Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charity that supports education, the arts and other community building activities in the Pee Dee Area.  Our mission is to provide resources for charitable, civic and direct service programs.  These include scholarships, educational assistance and partnerships with other agencies to magnify community impact. 

    Through our fundraising efforts, scholarships are awarded to deserving high school and college students each year. Our scholarships are awarded to deserving young students with the mission in mind of cultivating and encouraging high scholastic standards that will further their post-secondary education dreams.

    The Palmetto Pearls Foundation in partnership with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. ® - Epsilon Chi Omega Chapter is pleased to announce that we are accepting applications for 4 scholarships through July 16, 2025.

    Available Scholarships:

    • Gloria S. Frieson STEAM Scholarship $1000.00 GPA 3.0 (Must be accepted to a Four (4) Year accredited College or University with a major focused in any of the STEAM areas)
    • Diamond Scholarship $1000.00 GPA 3.0 Must be accepted to a Four (4) Year accredited College or University)
    • Pearl Scholarship $500.00 GPA 2.5 (Must be accepted to a Two (2) Year Technical OR Four (4) Year accredited College or University)
    • HBCU Scholarship $500.00 each GPA 2.5 Must be accepted to a Four (4) Year accredited HBCU Historically Black College or University)
    • Hilda Grayson Johnson Memorial Scholarship $1,000 GPA 3.0 (Must have completed at least one full year (24 earned credit hours) at a Four (4) Year accredited College or University with a major focused in Education)
    • The Palmetto Pearls Board of Directors College Scholarship $1,000 GPA 3.0 Must have completed at least one full year (24 earned credit hours) at a Four (4) Year accredited College with 50 hours of combined campus and local community service)

      TPPF Board of Directors:
      Upload your personal goal statement that describes an experience in which you demonstrated leadership or service in your school or community. Explain how this experience influenced your values, commitment to education, and desire to uplift others, and how this scholarship will support your continued leadership and community impact.
       
       
      Sorors of South Carolina Endowment Applicants, type a one-page essay responding to the following:
      Describe your academic interests and explain how your college experience will help you grow intellectually and personally. What strategies will you use to stay focused and successful?
      Where do you see yourself in the future? Discuss your professional aspirations and the short-term steps you plan to take during and after college to move toward those goals.
