The International Booker Prize is for fiction translated into English. It is awarded annually to the author and translator of the best (in the opinion of the judges) eligible work of long-form fiction or collection of short stories.
Submissions for the prize are managed by the Booker Prize Foundation team.
Eligible works must be published by a publishing house based in the UK or Ireland between May 1, 2023 and April 30, 2024. Authors are not permitted to enter their own works.
Submissions open on Thursday July 13, 2023. The deadline for completing online entry forms is Friday September 8, 2023.
Deadlines for sending finished copies (print and PDF files) and supporting assets to the Booker Prize Foundation are:
- Friday September 29, 2023 for works published between May 1 and November 30, 2023
- Friday January 12, 2024 for works published between December 1, 2023 and April 30, 2024.

Personal Data
Please help the Booker Prize Foundation by providing as much information in the entry form as you can. While not all of the author and translator personal data fields are marked as required, we ask for this information for use in any public statements we make about the prize, for example the longlist announcement. We will also share relevant information with media for their guidance at an appropriate time. Please ensure that you have the sufficient authority from the author and translator to enable you to provide this information for this purpose. We will check any author and translator pronouns are up to date before making any public announcements.
Confidentiality
Should any information be made available to you during the prize process that is embargoed, the Booker Prize Foundation will do so on the basis this it must not be disclosed to any third party outside of your organisation and should be shared with anyone within your organisation on a strictly need-to-know basis, until the embargo date and time. By completing this entry form, you confirm that you/the publicist and/or editor accept responsibility to ensure the embargo is observed.
