Brooklyn Arts Council grants strive to support local artists and small arts organizations whose work enhances the cultural climate of our borough, city, state, and nation. These awards encourage professional development, community growth, and fellowship among artists.
Brooklyn Arts Council has the following grants available in the 2024 Cycle:
Community Arts Grants up $5,000 each:
- Brooklyn Arts Fund - For Brooklyn-based individual artists, collectives, non-profits and 501c3 organizations for support of community arts projects in all disciplines, genres, and styles.
- Local Arts Support - For Brooklyn-based individual artists, Brooklyn-based non-profit organizations, and NYC-based individual artists working in partnership with Brooklyn-based nonprofit organizations for community arts projects.
- Charlene and Ella up to $2,500 - For Brooklyn-based women artists and arts leaders. Provide awardees with professional development support for creative careers and entrepreneurial pursuits.
Creative Equations Fund Grants up to $10,000 each:
- Justice, Equity, and Sustainability + Performing Arts- For Brooklyn-based community-engaged artists, arts-organizations, cultural entrepreneurs, and researchers who dedicate their creativity to solving social inequalities.
- Cultural Heritage + Dance- For Brooklyn-based artists, small arts organizations, cultural entrepreneurs, and cultural researchers dedicated to pres erving and engagement in cultural heritage traditions.
- Social Innovation + Cultural Entrepreneurship - For Brooklyn-based arts businesses that creatively use their profits, partners, or processes to disrupt inequity and or enhance economically viable and sustainable models of intervention for social good.
Brooklyn Innovation Incubator Fellowship is a Social Innovation accelerator and Professional Development intensive for Creatives and Entrepreneurs.
Brooklyn Empower Fund up to $1,500: Unrestricted grants for For Brooklyn-based artists. Funds can be spent on anything they need; be it rent, groceries, practice space, or childcare.
