  • Rules & Regulations

    1. Holiday Theme.  All entries must be of “holiday theme.”  However, NO Santa costumes are allowed.  There will only be one Santa Claus, and he will be on the last float of the parade.
    2. Tractors Only.  No trucks or cars will be allowed, except for local fire trucks per approval.
    3. Handouts.  For the safety of participants and spectators, no handouts on the parade route.
    4. Light Requirements.  All entries must be lighted.  Tractors are required to have a minimum of 1,000 lights.  Tractors with floats are required to have a minimum of 2,000 lights.  Any parade walkers must also be illuminated.
    5. Size Restrictions.  All entries are limited to a maximum height of 14 feet, width of 12 feet, and length of 50 feet.  Participants are asked to check the height of large self-propelled harvesters and floats.
    6. Generators.  All generators must be secured and kept away from combustible items.  No refueling of generators will be allowed once the parade is in motion.
    7. Drivers.  All drivers must be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
    8. Children.  Children age 5 and younger must be accompanied by a parent/adult on a ratio of 1 adult to 1 child.  For every 10 children over the age of 5, we ask that there is a minimum of 1 adult present to ride or walk with them.
    9. Walkers.  All walkers must be in holiday costume and illuminated with lights.  Those with uniforms are excluded from wearing costumes but must still be illuminated.
    10. Passengers.  No riders on tractors unless in approved buddy seat.  No legs may dangle over the side of the vehicle or float.
    11. Check-In.  All entries must check-in no later than one hour before parade starts.  Check-in will take place on Woodlawn Avenue, just before the high school parking lot.
    12. Staging Area.  The staging area will take place in the front high school parking lot.  Only parade entries will be allowed in the staging area.  All parade participants and entry supporters must park elsewhere and walk into the staging area due to limited space.
    13. Parade Order.  The order of the parade is at the discretion of parade officials and may determined by order of arrival.
    14. Parade Flow.  All entries must be forward-moving and always keep a tractor’s length distance between you and the entry ahead.  Parade officials will help regulate this.
    15. Music.  Entries with music are requested to play holiday music only.
    16. Animals.  Entries with animals are responsible for cleaning up and disposing of any excrement before, during, and after the parade.
    17. Garbage.  Please bring trash bags and take with you any debris created by your entry.
    18. Judging.  All entries will be judged according to the categories on the entry form.  The decision of the parade judges is final.
    19. Fire Safety.  A fire extinguisher must be present on every tractor, implement, and float.
    20. Smoking, Alcohol & Firearms.  No smoking or alcoholic beverages allowed on any parade entry at any time on the parade route or in the staging area.  No firearms are permitted.
    21. Right of Refusal.  The parade committee reserves the right to refuse or remove any entry, which in their opinion does not conform to parade rules.
    22. Cancellations.  Rain or snow – the parade will go on.  In the event of extreme weather, the parade will be cancelled.  Cancellation notifications will be available after 1:00pm on parade day by calling (518) 692-7979 or viewed on social media @greenwichtractorparade
  • Waiver, Release & Indemnification Agreement

    In consideration of the privilege of participating in the event, I/we grant to the Greater Greenwich Chamber of Commerce, Inc. its successors and assigns, the right to record, broadcast, and otherwise exploit in any and all media throughout the world, my performance in the event and to use my name, likeness, voice, and biographical information concerning me in connection with promotion of the Holiday Lighted Tractor Parade and affiliated events.  I/We further grant the use of the above for video and photo documentation and media purposes.  I/We relinquish all future television, video, and photographic rights by virtue of our appearance.

    For the same consideration, I/we assume all risks associated with participation in the parade and to the maximum extent permitted by law, I hereby agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless all of the following, who are hereafter called “the indemnified parties” namely the Greater Greenwich Chamber of Commerce, Inc., the Town of Greenwich, the Village of Greenwich, the Cambridge-Greenwich Police Department, the New York State Department of Transportation, the New York State Police, all of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, successor, assigns, sponsors, members, and volunteer workers from and against all and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses, including reasonable attorney’s fees, arising out of my participation in the parade, including without limitation, any personal injuries or damage to my personal property which I may occur as a result of participation in the Holiday Lighted Tractor Parade.  It is further understood that we/I am to furnish my own insurance in case of injury.

    I/We also agree to and shall indemnify and hold harmless all of the indemnified parties from and against all claims, losses, damages, causes of action, suits and liability of every kind including expense of litigation, court costs and attorney’s fees for injury to or death of any person for damage to any property arising out of or in connection to the Holiday Lighted Tractor Parade or associated events the day of the parade, whether such injury, death or damages are caused by the sole negligence of the indemnified parties or the joint negligence of the indemnified parties and any other person or entity.  I/We agree that this Waiver, Release, and Indemnification Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of New York and that the venue for litigation involving the indemnified parties shall be in a court of competent jurisdiction in Washington County, New York.

    The ultimate responsibility for safety lies with each individual parade entry.  Entries must comply with all the Official Parade Rules and implement relevant government regulations, safety codes and manufacturer’s recommendations and similar standards necessary to safely operate tractors, floats, and equipment.  I/We hereby understand and agree to accept all risk of bodily injury and/or property damage which I/we may incur or cause a third party to incur as a result of my/our participation in the Holiday Lighted Tractor Parade.

    This Waiver, Release, and Indemnification Agreement and the Parade Rules have been thoroughly read and understood and are given in consideration of the privilege to participate in the Holiday Lighted Tractor Parade.  This Waiver, Release, and Indemnification Agreement have been executed by the undersigned, who has the authority to represent.  Your signature indicates that you have read and understand the information presented on this form and that your entity agrees to comply with all rules established for the Greater Greenwich Chamber of Commerce, Inc. Holiday Lighted Tractor Parade in Greenwich, New York.
