2023 Glenorchy Open MARKET Application Form

The Glenorchy Open Market returns to the Moonah Arts Centre to coincide with the popular Glenorchy Open exhibition.

Do you make clothes? Jewellery? Homewares? Small art or prints? Badges? Hats? Shoes? Cards? Toys? Stationery? Crocheted stubby holders? Customised pet accessories? Decorative pot plants? Upcycled items? Ceramics? Comics or zines?

The Glenorchy Open Market will showcase the creativity of our community. Artists, makers and designers who live, work, or have a strong connection to Glenorchy (see map) can apply for a market stall at the Glenorchy Open Market. All items for sale at the Glenorchy Open Market must be made and/or designed by you. Please note: There is no fee for stallholders, however limited spaces are available and will be allocated to ensure a diverse range of stalls are represented on the day.

In the case of an emergency I am responsible for my own actions and the safety of my own personnel, and will follow MAC safety instructions.
Should any damage to the facility, equipment or loss occur, costs of rectifying or replacement will be charged to the stall holder. Any damage must be reported to MAC staff as soon as possible after the damage has occurred.
At the conclusion of the event I agree to remove all rubbish associated with my stall
To the maximum extent permissible by law, the Council and its agents, accept no liability of whatever description for any injury, death, damage or theft, which may occur on this facility, however caused.
The Council reserves the right to cancel the event at any time and the stall holder acknowledges no compensation is payable.

What you need to know

1. You must be a resident of, work or practice in, or have a special connection to the Glenorchy City Municipality to apply for a market stall.

2. All items for sale at the Glenorchy Open Market must be made and/or designed by you.

3. There is no fee to have a stall.

4. Limited stall spaces are available, if we are not able to accommodate all stall holder applications stalls will be allocated to ensure a diverse range of stalls are represented on the day.

5. Stall-holders must not display their wares beyond their designated site.

6. Money and valuables are the responsibility of the stall holder. It is each individual stall holder's responsibility to handle their own sales. Don't forget to bring a float with appropriate change.

7. The Moonah Arts Centre takes no commission or handling fee on sales.

8. Glenorchy City Council’s Insurance policy covers public and general liability for stallholders. There is limited insurance for items. If you have individual items worth over $250 that you wish to have covered under this policy then you must provide us with a list of items with their associated values at least two days before the event.

Please note: As the Moonah Arts Centre is a Community Arts facility and cannot restrict anyone from entry to the Centre for any reason, we reserve the right to refuse to permit work on the grounds that it may be unsuitable for people under 18 or potentially offensive to a reasonable person.
