Opening Retreat (required overnight) - November 5-6, 2023
Health & Community Services Day - December 4, 2023
Justice System Day - February 6, 2024
Government Day - March 5, 2024
Education Day - April 2, 2024
Graduation - April 2024 (exact date TBD)
Please check that each item is complete:
Complete the YLSC Application
Get both parent/guardian and principal signatures on the cover sheet
Obtain 1 reference from a school/teacher/counselor (required form attached & obtaining a letter from each is encouraged)
Obtain 1 reference from an outside school reference (coach, pastor, family friend, employer) (required form attached & obtaining a letter from each is encouraged)
Send signed cover letter and 2 recommendations in PDF form to: kwilliams@shelbyal.com (no photos of forms will be accepted)

I understand the purposes and requirements of the Youth Leadership Shelby County program. If I am selected, I will devote my time and resources to successfully complete the program. I understand I am allowed only one excused (notified ahead of time) absence from the class days. If I miss more than one session I will not be eligible for graduation. In signing this application, I understand these commitments and agree to honor them to the best of my ability.
The following 3 documents must be completed and emailed to kwilliams@shelbyal.com by the deadline (Friday, September 15, 2023 by 4:00pm) for this application to be complete. Documents include signed cover sheet, 1 recommendation from a school employee, 1 recommendation from someone outside of school (coach, church, employer, etc.) Documents may NOT be submitted as a photo.
