Summer of Sensors: Build & code sensors & Gadgets for our hydroponics shed

July 9th - August 29th

Tuesdays & Thursdays

Dive into the world of sensors and gadgets! In this program, you’ll learn to build and code smart sensors specifically designed for our hydroponics shed. From temperature monitoring to nutrient levels, you’ll create the tools that optimize plant growth. Get hands-on with Arduino, explore circuitry, and make a real impact on sustainable agriculture.

 

• Hands-On Learning: Get real-world experience by building and programming sensors from scratch.  
• Arduino As a Tool: Learn how to use Arduino boards to bring your innovative ideas to life.  
• Project-Based Approach: Work on a hands-on projects that will contribute to our hydroponics shed, combining agriculture with technology.  
• Skill Development: Gain valuable skills in coding, circuitry, and problem-solving that can help you land paid internships and get ahed in lucrative careers.  
• Mentorship: Receive guidance from experienced instructors who are passionate about technology, education, and supporting youth in our community.

Smart Farming Summer Program: AI in Hydroponics and Vertical Farming

 

8 weeks

July 8th - August 28th

Mondays & Wednesdays

10AM-3PM

This summer program provides middle and high school students with a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience in smart farming, focusing on hydroponics and vertical farming.

Participants will also learn how to incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize their hydroponic systems; from monitoring plant health and adjust growing conditions to predicting the best times for planting and harvesting. This high-tech approach will give you a glimpse into the future of smart farming!

 

• Over the course of the program, you'll:
• Discover the basics of hydroponics and how it differs from traditional farming
• Set up and maintain your own hydroponic system
• Grow a variety of vegetables and herbs
• Understand plant nutrition and optimal growing conditions
• Harvest and enjoy the fruits of your labor

But that's not all! You'll also learn how to market your fresh, homegrown produce. From creating a brand to exploring sales strategies, you'll gain valuable skills that can turn your green thumb into a budding business!

 

 

StyleMakers Studio: Fashion Design & Brand Creation
