Protecting Children, Young People and Adults
We need and want to keep vulnerable people and children safe. Because of this, we have to ask some personal questions about criminal convictions (spent and unspent) and cauations, or pending or ongoing court cases. All paid and unpaid roles are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The amendements of the Exceptions Order 1975 (2013) provide that certain spent convictions and cautions are 'protected' and are now subject to disclosure to employers, and cannot be taken into account.
Having a criminal record does not necessarily stop people helping out with Changing Futures NE. We will look into each case individually.
If you have any offences against children or vulnerable adults, or aren't honest with us on the form, you won't be able to volunteer with us. If you are barred from working with children or vulnerable adults and make an application to use, we will report this to the police.
If you have ever been convicted of a criminal offence, caustioned or reprimanded or given a final warning by the police or have any court cases pending, please give details below including dates of offences, sentences, cautionsm, reprimands, final warnings and details of court cases pending unless these are "protected" as definded by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) order 1975 (as amended in 2013).
