  • About Us: D-PAN, The Deaf Professional Arts Network, is a 501c3 nonprofit organization focused on producing access to entertainment in American Sign Language. Formed in 2006 to make music and music culture accessible to the deaf and hard-of-hearing community, D-PAN has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience in creating access to entertainment and more. 

    Job Description: We are seeking deaf interpreters to sign on camera for projects covering a variety of content, with topics including but not limited to educational, medical, entertainment, informative, and more. Deaf interpreters must be able to review all provided materials as required per project. Project source materials range from text-based to video-based. Video content in need of ASL interpretation will be accompanied by a transcript, captions, and additional accessibility tools per the interpreter's preference. Must have basic technical capabilities and be able to take direction.

    Job Qualifications:

    • 10+ years of signing experience  
    • Organized, punctual, able to deliver content in a timely fashion  
    • Technical knowledge & capabilities

    Bonus Perks (but not required) 

    • High quality home camera setup
    • Have a green screen setup with proper lighting 
    • Able to drive to Ferndale, MI

  • Types of Deaf Interpreters:

    The goal of our internal signing database is to have direct contact with those who have the skills to work with us on projects. 

    Deaf Interpreter: A deaf person who has experience sharing information in ASL with a deaf audience but is not certified.

    Certified Deaf Interpreter: A deaf interpreter who is certified and endorsed to interpret in the field. 

    Deaf Signer: A deaf person who is a fluent signer. 

    Deaf Music Interpreter: A deaf person who signs music.
